Wow, this was one cool episode, from the very beginning – I loved the reference to Luke Skywalker, obviously immediately pointing to Greg and his ring tone!
Although the Storybrooke flashbacks were a bit of a disappointment, we didn’t see too much of it! Regina was clearly uncomfortable with the whole idea from the beginning, why did she wait 10 years then to adopt Henry? If she acted straight away she might have been able to adopt little Emma 😛
Greg is obviously looking for his father and has the trauma of people not believing him – but there must be something else to why he’s filming everything (BTW, it’s just Regina’s luck that everything she magically does, is being recorded!) What is his plan and who is he in touch with from outside SB? Will we ever find out how he actually found the town again? Does he notice that noone in this town has aged?
Henry is being the voice of reason, he’s so far the only one who actually realises it’s not just people’s characters but also the magic that destroys their hearts. Shame he still walks away from Regina, just like that and hugging Emma, knowing fully well it will hurt Regina and there’s no need for it. But hey, sigh, you can’t have everything… right?
Which brings me to Snow’s heart getting dark – predictable but still very interesting – where will they take it from here? Obviously, the family will be trying to help her but will it be enough?
[adrotate group="5"]March 18, 2013 at 1:04 am #180533RumplesGirlKeymasterI didn’t have a lot of expectations for this episode. I thought it would be sorta filler-y because last week was so freaking good. But MAN! I was wrong. That was a great episode.
Some things I liked:
–Regina in 1983, the Groundhog’s Day-ness of it. Showing that her Curse could never make her happy.
–GRAHAM
–Greg = Owen. Knew it!!
–Henry as the voice of reason
–Rumple not letting Regina kill Snow. I knew he wouldn’t let me down."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 18, 2013 at 1:15 am #180541riniParticipantWell, for starters, Lana and Ginnifer killed it in this episode! My heart went out to both of them, equally. There are shades of gray developing everywhere!
The early days of storybrooke were fascinating. They really were just plopped down in Maine, new location, looks, personalities, jobs, names. That really was one powerful curse to create so much! Plus, it was so awesome seeing Jamie Dornan again!
So, did I get this wrong, or were the days actually on repeat? Until Emma appeared, of course.
Oh, I’m wondering what it is going to be like when Greg/Owen comes face to face with Regina! Plus, now we are adding Tamara to the mix…

This episode just showed it more. From poor Mary Margaret to The Charming Clan wanting to kill Regina. Now, I am not all for Regina either.
My husband and me just root for the good in everyone to come out. I hated when Henry went to Emma. It made my stomach churn. However, I hated Regina separating Owen and Ben from each other. As a mom that was hard to watch but I understood just how lonely she really was.
I have a lot more questions than answers after this episode. Like what is Tamara’s motives? Why August turned into a Wooden man when he came into this world as a boy? Is Ben still alive? Will Henry ever go back to his mother?
March 18, 2013 at 1:50 am #180574emma-bae-henryParticipantAgree with you RumpelsGirl 😀 I was so afraid that Rumpel will let me down. But he didn’t. I think beneath his cold demeanor to just about everything, he is full of love. Sometimes people build the wall around them, so they won’t get hurt. For Rumpel, I can see why he acts like that.
I guess Tamara is not as nice and sweet as I thought. She looks really dark in the sneak peak. Any idea who she is? Anyone?
Love the show.
Swanfire fan 😛

I just think fairies have a much larger role to play yet so maybe that’s why I want her to be an evil fairy godmother…That would be a seriously interesting twist…

August turned back to wood because he failed in his duty to get Emma to believe in her destiny. The Blue Fairy told him he would remain a real boy so long as he was “Selfless, Brave, and True” but he gave in to temptation and wasn’t there for Emma until it was too late.
I’m curious to find out what happened to Ben also. And I want to see what happens when Owen meets Regina.
I think Regina is making it less likely that Henry will go back to her. We know he still cares about her because he spoke up for her, as he has before, when the Charmings were talking about killing her. But I completely understand why Henry rushed to Emma as soon as Regina destroyed the curse. Not only was she threatening to kill the grandmother he loves but she was planning to wipe out his personality and alter his mind. In a certain sense she was planning to “kill” the Henry who currently exists and replace him with a different version. Poor Henry loves his adoptive mom but he is terrified by her actions.
March 18, 2013 at 3:30 am #180614elleParticipantI’m bit annoyed with Henry when yelled at his family about how they had to be good and not hurt Regina. It seems he forgot how many times she tried to kill them. And he continues to treat Emma horribly just because she lied–yes she was wrong, but as she apologized for it and told him how Neal had hurt her, he should try to understand.
Also, I think this episode shows once again how Regina is not a good mother. Not only with her attempt to make Henry love her, but how she separated a child from his father. The annoying part was that the show was aiming for this to make Regina mor sympathetic, but all I feel for her is disgust.
March 18, 2013 at 3:46 am #180619arkham258ParticipantThis may be the first time I saw an interaction between Regina and Mr. Gold where he wasn’t trying to goad her towards doing something bad. Maybe he is FINALLY changing, and without Belle’s influence too.
I always feel bad for Regina. Notice how everyone always walks away from her like she’s got leprosy or something. She tried to get the father and kid to stay, and it was only after they rejected her that she took more drastic action. That whole, “our lives are in New Jersey thing” was so pathetic and made me roll my eyes. You have the beautiful mayor of a town getting close to you and your son and offering you a place to stay where she can literally provide you anything and you say no? Really? 😕 Heck any woman who can cook me lasagna already has my heart. That guy was an idiot. If I knew nothing about her being an evil queen I’d have taken up that offer, assuming the kid was okay with it.
I think there is still a chance for Regina to turn around and not be evil. She relented once again in her evil scheme for Henry, and by the well again. Seems to be a theme. Her not killing Snow, despite all the reasons she gave, is still significant. Also, it appears like Mr. Gold is no longer going to be the little devil on her shoulder pushing her to be bad. Lastly, if there is some kind of dark story arc coming for Snow, it may create some more understanding between her and Regina
That, “thank you mommy” line from Regina was creepy. I love her, but there are those moments where she really does seem a little insane. Just the way she delivered that line.
Snow seemed a little melodramatic with the, “Kill me!” stuff. I know she’s guilt ridden, but that seemed a bit silly, like she suddenly doesn’t even care about the fact that she has a family who needs her anymore, especially David. I don’t want to see this Snow story arc rushed. Trying to commit suicide in the very next episode after she killed Cora is a bit extreme for my tastes. It’s like she’s all emo now jeez, and I don’t even like using the word emo. So thanks for that Snow 😆
Great interaction between Henry and Bae. They have a natural chemistry and are really hitting it off as father and son. I loved Emma’s line, “He’s your son!” Now we know where Henry gets all his sneakiness and cleverness from
Did you guys notice Henry say, “you can’t kill my MOM!” Wow, quite a change from how he used to think of Regina in season 1. Is some of this stemming from his disappointment in Emma?

Well, he did say the same thing in the first episode of the season.

.Interesting. I had exactly the opposite reaction. In fact, just before he started yelling, I was thinking somebody needs to yell at these people “YOU ARE STANDING IN FRONT OF A CHILD TALKING ABOUT KILLING HIS MOTHER!”
I also think Henry’s reaction to Emma’s lie is understandable. He would immediately forgive her for almost anything else (we saw in season one that he didn’t care that she had a criminal record or that he was born in jail) but he has been hypersensitized to lies from his mother by his experience with Regina. She lied to him about the curse for his entire life and made him question his own sanity for years. The only person he could turn to explain a confusing world, his mother, lied to him and only added to that confusion. Then, he found Emma and assumed she would be the perfect mother – the opposite of Regina. And then Emma lied to him too. Frankly, I think it’s impressive that he is as well-adjusted as he is. At least he’s not out trying to blow up buildings (only magic wells!)
