It’s lucky for August that Neal could read.

Wow! So now we know that AWB’s typewriter is BIG though at times might seem LITTLE, it’s metallic RED because it’s SHINY and it’s company’s make must be called MYSTERY!
Jane, what the heck were you tweeting when you said what’s inside is “big………red…….shiny……mystery” and then later “little……..shiny……….mystery”
LOL!
Keeper of Pandora's Box & The Yellow Brick Road.
Honestly, I think the popular theory that Neal saw the drawing of Rumple’s dagger in the box would have been better than what we actually got. Just a page in the typewriter saying “I know you’re Baelfire” just felt underwhelming.
This is the perfect picture that expresses my reaction to the reveal lol

…I was also underwhelmed. Why couldn’t have August just said that out loud?
Ps. On an unrelated subject: not sure how to post a picture without doing it through a link…anyone know how?
He couldn’t say it outloud in an episode that aired before the reveal that Neal is Bae. 🙂
OMG Chexmex–my feelings exactly! I mean, it was a great fake-out, but definitely felt contrived.

Someone should tweet Jane and see just what the heck she meant. I could understand if she said it aloud because “red” and “read” are homonyms and it is something that was “read”. But she tweeted it, didn’t she?
We need answers, Jane!
Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.
Or she was just winding us up? I don’t think that requires a tweet to figure that out.
You know, at first I found the reveal a bit disappointing, even with the knowledge that it could never be quite as awesome as the mystery.
But the more I think about it…the power of a name, even in a universe where almost everyone has more than one name at this point, gets reinforced by that being the thing that convinced Neal to listen to Pinocchio. (It was also the first thing that Rumple wanted to know when he got back–what’s his name? Rumple may have had an idea of their power before he became all magical himself.)

Excellent point, Keb. Names are indeed powerful things.
