I do like it though. Snow is so guilt ridden over what she did to Cora that she even thinks going back to the EF and reclaiming the land will help, so I can see her thinking this grand sacrifice for Regina will lessen her guilt.

Not only would it lessen her guilt, it would also be a huge gesture that Regina would have to acknowledge. How could she remain hell bent on revenge on the person who just saved her life? It would force a redefinition of their whole relationship.

However, it wouldn’t be the first time Snow saved Regina. We’ve seen Snow White save Wilma the peasant (though Snow didn’t know she was Regina) and again when she banished Regina, rather than having her killed, which didn’t change Regina for the better. But, I agree that Snow White self-sacrifing herself to the point of possibly dying would hopefully impact Regina and hopefully help turn the tides for their relationship.

Yeah, this would be taking it to a whole new level.

Maybe Regina wouldn’t need Snow’s heart in her for very long, maybe just long enough to reboot her system (so to speak). But if it’s something that Rumple’s never tried before, and he’s just, “well it should work…in theory,” but there’s a chance it would actually kill them both, then that would still fit the brief of a dangerous connection.

I find this theory very intriguing. In “Heart of Darkness” the way Prince Charming preserved Snow White’s goodness was by being willing to die for her, and Snow realized he truly loved her. Maybe what Regina needs to regain her sense of goodness is a jolt of experiencing Snow’s sacrificial love for her. Due to their tumultuous relationship, we sometimes forget that these two have a mother-daughter connection. Young Regina was willing to risk her life to save a perfect stranger, and Snow said how that changed her. If Snow were willing to make amends by risking her own life to save Regina, it would be a be a beautiful mirror image of how Regina saved her, and hopefully would really change Regina for the better.

Hadn’t thought of that mirror image, but now that you mention it, that scene in The Evil Queen is the perfect setup.

If this actually happens, someone out there had better make a Snow/Regina fanvid to Kickstart My Heart.

Totally. I love parallels and given that the story of Regina saving little Snow was brought up this past episode (in case anyone forgot) that could be where we are headed! Nice job Phee and Slurpeez! I like it.
