Highlights from the interview:
•”Neverland had mermaids.” They always wanted Ariel and saved her for Neverland. How she got to Neverland will be revealed in the first 11 episodes.
•The Grumpy-Ariel video is not canon. It was just a promotional video to show that she would be appearing on OUaT season 3. The show wasn’t in production yet, so it was a fun video to introduce Ariel.
•The balance between Storybrooke and Neverland: At first the season will be Neverland heavy, but Storybrooke will have a presence. And, both stories will meet.
•The beginning of the season will focus on Neverland and those people on the ship. The season will be more focused, so some characters may not be seen each episode.
•In addition to Ariel, Tinker Bell will show up and Peter Pan in Neverland. Not many other new characters this season. Robin Hood will show up again.
•There will still be flashbacks in season 3, but not in the season premiere. In episode 2, it’s a Snow-Charming-Evil Queen flashback similar to from season 1. Then the flashbacks are: episode 3 is Regina, episode 4 is Rumple, and episode 5 is Hook.
•There are two crossovers, but both appear on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

So it looks like TB is in NL
[adrotate group="5"]August 29, 2013 at 10:35 pm #207248RumplesGirlKeymasterI never suspected that Tink wouldn’t be in NL, but I do believe she can cross lands like Tink does in the books/movies.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 29, 2013 at 11:06 pm #207250kfchimeraParticipantThese are the same interviews from Comiccon right, we had seen links before, and this buddytv writer just wrote an article or are these new ones? They look very familiar in terms of what the highlights are.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
August 29, 2013 at 11:08 pm #207251RumplesGirlKeymasterThere is at least one thing we can read between the lines: they wanted Ariel and saved her to fit the story TO ME = more than two episodes. They are going to use her a lot. They’ve been waiting for this.
Also, what one earth does it mean “how she (Ariel) GOT to NL??”

August 29, 2013 at 11:56 pm #207253nick_clarkParticipantI would love that Ariel is from Atlantis (Atlantica), I’ve never been a fan of that Ariel is from Neverland, how can she love such a pessimist world? (and I hope that there is a reason for Neverland being a dark place)
ps. Sorry for my english, spanish boy here! 🙂

Nice catch I didn’t see that. The video on that link did confirm “How did Ariel get to NL” it is the 1st couple of minutes.

Yep! The fact that they’ve been wanting to show Ariel’s story for so long and have obviously planned it specifically, makes me so excited to see what they have in store for her.

Dunno, coz we’re apparently seeing other mermaids in NL in 301, so it’s not like Ariel is an isolated case. If she “got to” NL, then I’d be inclined to think that all merfolk “got to” NL at some point, and it’s not their native land?

I hope so! Or they are different kind of mermaids, more savage and animal-like beings with scales and crusts.
I’ve always thought this about Ariel’s storyline, the OUAT little mermaid lived what the original story told with Regina being the sea hag (Reginursula?), she couldn’t kill her beloved prince and before die she was saved by Rumple who made with her a deal, in exchange of her life and legs, she had to bring him the ink of a strange squid which only lives undersea, and this magical squid would be a twisted version of what Ursula is in the Disney movie, not a cecaelian but a magical sea creature. How she got to NL no idea.
