The first time since the premiere where they left out FTL flashback and just focused on the present day stories and I loved it! It flowed so well, made so much sense, it was great. There were a lot of scenes I loved.. probably for different reasons than most people on here from what I gather.
I loved Belle and Rumple’s date… but because it was so crazy awkward. And Granny. And Regina barging in.
Henry and Regina’s talk when she was making the curse… I give Regina props for handling that well and with honesty. Henry has gotten slack since the pilot episode because he has on occasion been a “brat” to Regina. Those arguments drive me nuts. But, this scene was great because if you’ve never seen this show before you can see there is a seriously strained relationship going on between them. But, you can also tell that each cares for the other but there is a giant elephant in the room that is keeping them apart.
I also liked after David went in the sleeping curse and Henry is wondering why he hasn’t woke up and Regina is all “maybe they’re just catching up” when Gold shakes his head no, Regina looks at Henry and looks quite sad. And I personally like to believe that she’s sad for Henry because Henry is upset about his grandfather. Like.. it’d be really nice if Regina actually felt empathy towards her son (as opposed to last season when she used him for her own gain). So, that was a nice little touch in her “really trying” arc.
On a little sidebar, can I say how AWESOME Regina’s face was when she said “If there’s one thing I know about your grandparents…. they always find each other.” LOL She was trying to be supportive of Henry but oh man you can see/hear/taste and feel that disdain and disgust she has for his grandparents lol.
Loved Aurora in this episode. It’s amazing how much you can like a character when they actually give her something to do. Here’s to hoping they do something similar with Mulan.
Glad to see Hook actually be a villain and more than just a flirt. I also like Cora’s campiness but.. she’s a lil annoying. She’s not a character I love to hate. I just like to hate her. Regina (especially FTL flashback) last season I LOVED hating her. Not feeling it with mommy dearest.
Snow and Emma were adorable.. they’re really coming a long way in their relationship. You can almost see a merge between their best friend relationship and this newfound mother-daughter thing. I absolutely adored the “if there’s one thing your father taught me” line. I don’t know why, it’s just really cute to hear Snow say stuff like “your father” or whatever.. reminding her that yeeeeep, parents.
Two things other people jumped on Emma for (not just on here but other places as well) that I didn’t quite get or maybe I interpreted the scenes differently…
One was “Oh yeah princess, you’re going to sleep.” Or something. Some said she was rude to Aurora about it. I didn’t get it at all. Maybe it’s my personal headcanon, but I get the feeling Emma and Aurora have actually gotten quite along during their little journey. Maybe it’s their lil chat in Lady of the Lake and Emma giving her jacket, but I feel there’s a more connection there than there is with Emma and Mulan or Aurora and Snow (even though Snow comforted her during her sleep). So, the “princess” line wasn’t really derogatory or rude, it’s just… well, Emma speech.
And Emma has NO idea what this netherworld is like, so she doesn’t quite get what she’s asking of Aurora… besides, Aurora is going to go there anyway no matter what.. might as well be sooner rather than later.
Another one was “Regina is to blame” Wow I’ve never seen a character get so much slack for a statement than that one right there and I am flabbergasted as to why. From my interpretation, Emma was first talking about Henry and his curse and how it’s her fault. And then Snow talks about the Big Curse and flippantly saying how it’s her fault. Then they start talking about faith and as Snow walks off Emma stares off into nothing and from what I interpreted… it finally clicked for Emma. Like, for real. It finally clicked in her brain what’s happened in the last 28 years. Not only did Regina actually create the poisoned turnover but there was this curse that tore apart her family… and Regina did that. Regina is at fault for both the sleeping curse and the Big Curse. And Emma finally clicked it all together and was like “Whoa.. she’s not just some annoying thorn in my side, she’s actually an evil bitch.” But hey, that’s just my interpretation…
November 27, 2012 at 12:16 am #162488elleParticipantApparently, Emma cannot do anything right. 🙄 She is easy fooled, she is stupid and people hate her. When she does act even more wary than before and chains Captain Hook up (and judging from his actions this episode, it was the smart thing) people automatically hate her and tell her to be more trusting of others. And when Emma blames Regina–for the curse, for poisoning Henry, for causing a lot of pain to everyone–Emma is a horrible person.
Seriously–Emma has a right to blame Regina. She cursed everyone, endangered Henry at times, used him against Henry, and tried to kill her parents. Plus, Emma has not seen Regina trying to change–for all she knows, Regina is still the same person.

-Seeing Everyone work together to help Henry. I thought it demonstrated tremendous maturity on everyone’s part.-Mr. Gold telling Henry the story of how he got captured. Even though it’s a disturbing story, Mr. Gold made it sound really sweet somehow. 😆 I’m really loving how sweet and tender Mr. Gold has been towards Henry this season.
-Oh God! Mr. Gold and Belle. Be still my beating heart! This scene had me smiling all night. I love that the writers gave us that little scene. It was simple but sweet. 😀
“Condiments are the most powerful magic in the world.” God I love this man. 😆
Least Favorite Moments:
-Mulan hasn’t been a favorite of mine this season and this episode did nothing to change that. I don’t really like Aurora either, but at least she was able to kick Cora in the shins before she effectively got written out of the show.November 27, 2012 at 1:01 am #162492the fairestParticipantI loved this episode! Most of my favorite moments probably came from Snow, Charming, Rumpel and Belle (my two OTPs). The scene between Snow and Charming at the end of the episode was heartbreaking. The writers are always splitting my lovebirds apart. But at least they’ve managed to keep my other favorite couple together. I loved the scene between Mr. Gold and Belle at Granny’s diner. It was just too cute for words. I also loved that he asked Belle to stay. I’m glad that he’s being more honest with her. But UGH! Regina came in and ruined it! But it wasn’t too bad though. The conversation about Rumpel and Cora’s battle back in the Enchanted Forest was intriguing.
I don’t really have any least favorite moments. Everything else was just fine. 😀
November 27, 2012 at 1:09 am #162493a chipped cupParticipantI really enjoyed this episode. The entire cast was featured perfectly and they all contributed to the episode in their own way. This was certainly one of the best episodes of the season so far. 🙂
All of my favorite scenes happened in Storybrooke. Mr. Gold and Belle’s date, Regina and Mr. Gold working together to help save Snow and Emma, Regina and Henry’s heart-to-heart about magic, and Charming sacrificing himself so that he could deliver Mr. Gold’s message to Snow.
I’m still not too fond of the present day Enchanted Forest storyline, but it’s at least heating up. I loved seeing Cora raise her army of zombies, and her scenes with Hook were amazing. And poor Aurora. The minute she starts becoming interesting, the writers turn her into a zombie. Argh! 😡
November 27, 2012 at 4:03 am #162506malchoreParticipantThis is the first time in my life I’ve ever loved a table lamp. I just think this lamp is cool. It was next to Henry, as he was laying on the bed.

This is one of those things where you just have to slap yourself in the head and think “I could have done that!” But you didn’t.
November 27, 2012 at 4:18 am #162509timespacerParticipantI liked a LOT about this episode.
I enjoyed seeing Rumple and Belle get the hamburgers promised in the earlier episode. And I loved Granny in that scene!
It was great seeing Regina play with her chemistry set! The evolving relationship between Henry and Regina shown in that scene was very good. I agree with the description of it posted by Schmacky:.

The only part that didn’t really grab me was the zombies. They were OK to provide a little action to interrupt Aurora’s dream, but never really seemed to make much of an impression on me.
