As Rumple and Regina let Ana and Drizella go, Regina asks if Rumple is okay letting the guardian go. So, Anastasia was a guardian but Rumple has hope she wasn’t the only one. Is there another guardian out there and who might it be?

I know my theory is really silly but maybe it is Facilier. I mean we still have no idea why he wants the dark one dagger, maybe it was in the cards that Facilier is to take the dagger from Rumple and release him from the curse. This would also put Facilier in the definitely good guy pile and allow Regina to live happily ever after with him. If not it better be Henry or Alice because that was the first people Rumple met when he came to EF2 and therefore makes the most sense.

Perhaps that’s the true reason he’s after the dagger. He doesn’t really want to kill Rumple and take his place as the Dark One. He wants to fulfill his role as the Guardian, despite how shady he’s been.

I like your thoughts on Facilier being the Guardian. But there going to have to do quite a bit to explain away his shadiness in the past and present, to where he’s a “good guy” worthy of Regina. I could see something having happened between the evens of 7×12 and now that redeemed him, but then why he is still using Naveen and Regina is still wary of him? I really want Henry to be the guardian, because it fits with prophecy and would tie up “the boy will be your undoing” from Season 2 – it’s always bothered me they never came back to that.

But he was undone by Henry, just not in the way he thought. Henry lead him to Pan and the only way to get rid of Pan was to kill both himself and Pan together with the dagger.

That would be a nice twist since we’ve seen people trying to take the dagger many times before.
