Henry can be his weakness- because love is a weakness- and now Rumple might have, as so many have mentioned, granfatherly love for Henry. And if Cora finds the knife…hm you could be on to something here!
Or loving Henry could be his strength (ie. Emma)
Whatever the details, I think Rumple’s “undoing” will involve him having courage. Could be courage to do something (like protect someone or something) or give something up (like magic or his memories). The sad part is if he gives up his memories by stepping across the border he won’t remember Belle. But at this point she doesn’t remember him either.
My rumbelle heart will break into a million pieces if that’s what happens. 😥 😥
I just rewatched the scene where Henry and Bae talk. What if Henry is Rumple’s undoing in another way? Bae says “I’m sorry I took so long” and Henry says “it’s ok, you didn’t know”. Earlier Henry was telling Rumple about how Bae will take some time but he will get it because he’s his son and he will forgive him the way Henry forgave Emma for giving him up.
So, what if Rumple’s undoing simply means undoing this situation Rumple has created between himself and Bae thats essentially tormented him for all these centuries? It seems like through Henry’s forgiveness Bae may see his father differently.
I think it is definitely possible that Henry is not the boy in question and, yes, August does also fit the description given by the seer!
Unfortunately, I think that Rumple believes that it is Henry. I think he fully intended to kill Henry before any “undoing” could occur… he specifically thanked Henry for being the one to lead him to his son in this very episode. Luckily, he has now found out that Henry is his grandson – and I think the look on his face when this was revealed last episode shows that it threw a HUGE wrench in Rumples plans for the prophesied boy. Now he has to reconsider … accept his “undoing” or kill his grandson … I’ll bet that’s not an easy choice for him.
On the official podcast recapping this episode, the creators outright said that Henry was the prophesied boy, so I don’t think it will be anyone else.
yay!
