FTL should have a door, but not SB unless one was made recently when Rumple brought magic. Until he brought magic to SB, new magic could not be created inside the Curse Bubble and it was “a land without magic”

The only thing is, we know the book goes back farther than the events of the pilot since Baelfire is in the book.
Right, but, if Jefferson realm jumped to any given land before the curse, he could have collected the stories from diff people.
He says to Emma in Hat Trick that he “hear’s things” and has a conversation with her about books.
He mentions the Civil War….which I thought was odd….how would Jefferson know about the Civil War?that’s true too.
He has two memories; memories from FT land and memories that the curse created (like knowing about the Civil War).

I never thought of Jefferson having two memories – FTL and also SB memories. That ould be true.
Or, he read about the Civil War in one of the books in his house….there are stacks of them.
I think Regina would bring him books to read. After he read so many, she would take some back to the shool. I think he smuggled ‘thee’ book out that way without Regina knowing it and that’s how MM got ahold of it and ultimately, Henry.
Also, if Regina was taking him books to read, she could have stayed and talked/bragged about the ‘good old days’. What’s the harm? Jefferson was confined to his house and, who’d believe him anway? Could be how he knew some stuff that was put into the book.May 27, 2013 at 2:42 am #196226kfchimeraParticipantJefferson says in Hat Trick ” And destroy her reality? I’m trapped by knowledge. How cruel do you think I am? You think I’d inflict that awareness on my daughter? It’s hard enough to live in a land where you don’t belong. But knowing it, holding conflicting realities in your head…will drive you mad.”
I think it sounds more like two sets of memories in that the realities conflict.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
May 27, 2013 at 2:52 am #196233RumplesGirlKeymasterI think Jefferson’s got a couple lives in his head:
1) his life with his daughter Grace in FTL
2) whatever life Regina inflicted on him as punishment/torture
3) the crazy man he became in WL which clearly still manifests in him."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 27, 2013 at 12:22 pm #196249vroniParticipantI agree with Rumpelsgirl. Belle did go to Mulan’s land by foot, so there is no need for a door in Jefferson’s hat.
And Hercules is the Roman name for him. His original Greek name is Herakles…

I agree.

True, but his reality in WL is vastly different from what it was in FTL or even in SB.
In FTL he’s Jefferson. He has a past that he doesn’t talk about, but he’s a devoted dad trying to look out for Grace.
In WL, he’s the Mad Hatter. He’s no longer Jefferson in that land because of what was done to him.
In SB, he has whatever Regina gave him in the way of a reality (lonely super rich man who lives in a too big house) but hes also got his other realities mixing around his head. He’s trying to be Jefferson (the devoted dad) but he’s still the Mad Hatter (hence the psychotic behavior). SB Jefferson is neither FTL Jefferson but nor is WL Mad Hatter. He is both. (plus whatever Regina gave him)"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 27, 2013 at 2:14 pm #196261obisgirlParticipantMaybe but since he is also addressing Grace in that quote (since we know that is her real name), I still have to go with Chimera that the other reality he’s to fairytale world and this reality. Not Wonderland.
