We got a bit more character development on Ivy tonight, even if it was a bit what we expected. She longs for her mother approval above all else but is lonely. Will she and Henry strike up a cursed!relationship? What makes her so desperate for Victoria’s approval?

IF A MOTHER DENIES HER APPROVAL TO A CHILD… THAT IS ALL THAT THE CHILD WILL WANT.

Very True!
Will she and Henry strike up a cursed!relationship?
It sure looked like it, they had good chemistry going on. I wonder if Ivy is going to show an evil side and reveal that she went after Henry to hurt Jacinda.

Yes, the real question is “why did Lady T favor Anastasia over Drizella?”
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 27, 2017 at 10:09 pm #343808bibliophileParticipantI thought she and Henry had the chemistry that Henry and Cindy lack. It’s true she might be evil, maybe even a bigger bad than her boring mom, but we’ve seen no real evidence of that so far. At the moment I’m inclined to be believe she’s just a spoiled selfish person who is finally learning to care about someone else. Maybe she felt unloved as a child because her mom doted on Anastasia instead of her? I think her interest in Henry will parallel (as the writers LOVE to do) the David/Snow/Catherine story-line from the first season.

It does suck for her that the one time someone is kind to her, he happens to be a guy she is falling for, except he likes her stepsister (Jacinda). I kind of appreciate that Henriella’s romance thus far is not a mirror of Snowing’s almost instantaneous mutual pining that quickly evolved into an unstoppable love. While this is indeed a show about fairytales, I like the realism of Henriella, which does reflect some real life relationships, where one person may be attracted to the other first and it takes the other person a very long time to see the latter as more than just a friend. Both in Hyperion Heights and the New Enchanted Forest, it appears Henry fell for Cinderella/Jacinda first, although in HH, he’s definitely more hesitant since he has the baggage of a (fake) deceased wife and daughter.
If Ivy becomes jealous of Henry and Jacinda becoming more than friends, it could make or break Ivy. She could choose to take the high road and be mature about the situation, or she could spiral down deeper into being the mean girl of HH and be more susceptible to Victoria’s machinations in order to get “even” with Jacinda for taking the person she is interested in (Henry).
As for why Ivy is so desperate for her mother’s approval, she stated in the episode that she has no one besides her mother. This shows just how lonely Ivy is deep inside her own heart. I wish she and Jacinda could be true sisters who love and trust each other as family.

I couldn’t tell if she was being genuine with Henry, or just playing him. But I definitely think she will go after him. Whether she develops true feelings for him remains to be seen.

I am a nerd at heart.

Oh, Henry, with love interests like those, your cursed name should be Ed.
