I believe that there are several layers of story going on here which may be causing confusion.  First off Cryus and “Genie” (aka Magic Mirror/Sidney Glass) are 2 completely different Genies with 2 completely different back stories and connections to Agrabah and Jafar. The genie we are most familiar with from the Disney Aladdin story is always referred to as the Genie of the Lamp or just Genie, no other name is given to him.  This is the same genie that appears in OUAT and eventually is cursed to be the Magic Mirror by Regina.  I believe that timeline-wise the events in Aladdin take place AFTER Jafar returns to Agrabah from Wonderland, and is why Aladdin/Jasmine would probably NOT make an appearance in Wonderland.  In Aladdin, the story begins with Jafar, who is Royal Vizier of Agrabah, in search for the Cave of Wonders and the “magic lamp”, and end with him, wishing himself to be an all powerful Genie and thereby being cursed to be a slave locked in a lamp, where Aladdin’s Genie sends him to be entombed in the Cave of Wonders for 1000 years.  In Wonderland, Jafar is powerful, but not yet the Vizier, as he is only known as a man with the staff of a serpent (the royal vizier would have been well known within the land) and is searching for a Magic BOTTLE (Cyrus’ bottle).  Jafar is evil and power hungry, and is obsessed with the magic that genies’ possess.  I propose that his adventures in Wonderland end poorly and he eventually returns to Agrabah to pursue “plan B” — the genie of the lamp.

Magic Mirror isn’t genie from Aladdin. They said that already and Cyrua isn’t either.

According to the OUAT wiki Magic Mirror/Genie is the same from the Aladdin story (specifically the one from 1001 nights). Also, I did not say Cyrus was from the Aladdin story – just the opposite. 🙂

@mousears you seem to know a whole lot about Aladdin, can you please tell me where can I watch the whole series where Aladdin’s genie (the Genie of the Lamp) appears on OUAT?

    And what does OUAT mean?

It sounds so interesting and also is this the continuation to the original Aladdin series?

I can’t believe they actually made another series after Aladdin with just the genie, I so want to watch that.

By the way I’m new here and already liking it 🙂

    And what does OUAT mean?

OUAT = ONCE UPON A TIME …. long time posters get tried of writing the same words over and over again so we use abbreviations of sorts …. somewhere in this forum there is a list of abbreviations we commonly use but I am not sure where…. MAYBE the administrators can bump it up.

I personally did not like the WONDERLAND ONCE show … it was poorly done … I did love the actor playing JAFAR he was great.

The rest of the show put me to sleep … and was totally boring … usually turning off the TV rather than watching it.
