So here is a question that occurs to me. Is Jafar in Wonderland or do Alice and Cyrus (Cylice?) meet him on their adventures after Alice frees him?

What’s funny is that he was married/life partner/whatever it was with Barbara Hershey for a long time. (They’re not together anymore, are they?) Hehe…it’s funny to think of the Queen of Hearts and Jafar as a power couple.
She might have put in a good word for him… especially if they parted on good terms. ‘

Oh right. I posted my above before I watched the panel.
Ok. Speculation: Jafar is in league with the Red Queen. They have a deal. I wonder if Jafar gave the Red Queen magic?

Oooo, interesting idea!
Which leads to questions of why she wanted magic?
And I’ve still got that little voice in the back of my mind that wonders if Red Queen could end up being Grace’s mother, and now I’m imagining a scene where Sebastian Stan goes up against Naveen Andrews who has corrupted his true love, and I think I need a moment because that would be in-tense.

See I’ve got this little voice in the back on my head saying that the Red Queen is Alice’s sister who is always portrayed as intolerant toward Alice, but mostly because she is older. The OUAT twist would be that Alice’s sister is actually her greatest enemy. In my head it works a little something like this: Alice goes down the rabbit hole in search of her sister who left many years ago and became the Red Queen, also becoming “evil” under the tutelage of Jafar who wants revenge on Cyrus, the Genie from Aladdin. With the help of the Red Queen, they trap Cyrus in the Lamp. Then Alice comes along and sets him free. Jafar sends the Red Queen to kill Cyrus and Alice (let’s say something like it was foretold that Cyrus would defeat Jafar someday). Instead of killing them, the RQ casts Cyrus off a cliff and banished Alice back to London where she is locked up in a mental institution. While she is there, years pass and the RQ meets Jefferson and they have a child, Grace. Jefferson realzing how horrible the RQ is, flees back to FTL with his daughter. Alice is broken out of jail by The White Rabbit and the Knave to go in search of Cyrus to defeat Jafar and the RQ who are terrorizing WL.
*breath* Ok go.

Anyway, the idea of RQ being Alice’s sister is an interesting one! The Panel implied that Alice’s father would play into the story and would have reasons for having Alice locked up.

But her sister sat still just as she left her, leaning her head on her hand, watching the setting sun, and thinking of little Alice and all her wonderful Adventures, till she too began dreaming after a fashion, and this was her dream:–
First, she dreamed of little Alice herself, and once again the tiny hands were clasped upon her knee, and the bright eager eyes were looking up into hers–she could hear the very tones of her voice, and see that queer little toss of her head to keep back the wandering hair that would always get into her eyes–and still as she listened, or seemed to listen, the whole place around her became alive the strange creatures of her little sister’s dream.
The long grass rustled at her feet as the White Rabbit hurried by–the frightened Mouse splashed his way through the neighbouring pool–she could hear the rattle of the teacups as the March Hare and his friends shared their never-ending meal, and the shrill voice of the Queen ordering off her unfortunate guests to execution–once more the pig-baby was sneezing on the Duchess’s knee, while plates and dishes crashed around it–once more the shriek of the Gryphon, the squeaking of the Lizard’s slate-pencil, and the choking of the suppressed guinea-pigs, filled the air, mixed up with the distant sobs of the miserable Mock Turtle.
So she sat on, with closed eyes, and half believed herself in Wonderland, though she knew she had but to open them again, and all would change to dull reality–the grass would be only rustling in the wind, and the pool rippling to the waving of the reeds–the rattling teacups would change to tinkling sheep-bells, and the Queen’s shrill cries to the voice of the shepherd boy–and the sneeze of the baby, the shriek of the Gryphon, and all thy other queer noises, would change (she knew) to the confused clamour of the busy farm-yard–while the lowing of the cattle in the distance would take the place of the Mock Turtle’s heavy sobs.
Lastly, she pictured to herself how this same little sister of hers would, in the after-time, be herself a grown woman; and how she would keep, through all her riper years, the simple and loving heart of her childhood: and how she would gather about her other little children, and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of Wonderland of long ago: and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find a pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life, and the happy summer days.
So if they build and twist that I could see her sister as someone who may be or is familiar with everything going on. Maybe she could be the Red Queen or even someone else.

July 21, 2013 at 12:48 pm #201339RumplesGirlKeymasterOh well that pretty much does it for me. That right there just screams confirmation that the RQ is Alice’s sister, at least as far as OUATinWL in concerned.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"July 21, 2013 at 1:10 pm #201346PriceofMagicParticipantI don’t think RQ is Grace’s mother. Jefferson said he lost Grace’s mother because of his work so perhaps RQ killed her or did something to her.
All magic comes with a price!
