That line from Jafar almost makes it seem like he doesn’t want to just outright kill Alice.
Almost like Alice could be Jafar’s pawn, which would tie into Jo’s theory about a chess match!

That line from Jafar almost makes it seem like he doesn’t want to just outright kill Alice.
Sounds like he wants to use her to find Cyrus. I’m thinking the two genie’s have a past beef, and Jafar wants revenge. I’d like to think Cyrus is Aladin’s Genie (but A&E gave him a name other than Genie), and Jafar hates being a genie since it’s more like being a prisoner. Someone wants some revenge, and I’m hoping we see how it all started in Agrabah (spelling?).
I reckon maybe Jafar is outwardly in league with the RQ, but is actually planning to double cross her, by using Alice in some way.

I was wondering the other day if perhaps Genies could be “brothers” in the same sense that Dwarves are? I think if Cyrus was gonna be Aladdin’s Genie, they’d at least dress him in blue if they’re not gonna make him actually blue. But I’m sure Aladdin, Jasmine, and their Genie will play into this story somehow. With Jafar around, the rest of them will have to be as well. You brought up something I hadn’t considered before…is this version of Jafar gonna be during his time as a Genie? Or has he got himself out of the lamp?
Even if Cyrus isn’t THE genie we all know from the Disney film, Cyrus could still be Jafar’s genie nemesis. In the movie he wants the lamp so that he can use the Genie to grant his wish of taking over Agrabah. But somehow Cyrus and his bottle got out of Agrabah and ended up in WL where Alice frees (maybe?) him and they go adventure. Jafar learns of of this and strikes a deal with the RQ. She sends Cyrus over the cliff, Alice goes back to FictionalLondon and is put in the asylum. The RQ hands over Cyrus to Jafar who tries to use him but can’t because Cyrus has been freed by TL. Alice comes back to WL with the Knave and Bunny Rabbit to find Cyrus and free him from the clutches of Jafar and the RQ. Jafar realizes that he cannot control Cyrus until he also has control of Alice because their hearts are intertwined.

I think given that this is show with Wonderland in the title, the RQ is the greater enemy.

Good question. Does anyone know for sure?
If Jafar is still just a sorcerer or something, maybe heis chasing after the Genie (cyrus) to become a Genie. He realizes the potential of such power, but perhaps he doesn’t know the price.
I know nothing for sure but I expect that given his Snake Staff Jafar is still a sorcerer. I think the season may end with him turning into the Red Genie, though. Sets up S2 nicely.

I’d like that! It’d definetly leave me wanting to see more. But I do believe Jafar still had his Cobra Staff when he was a genies (in the sequels and show) though I could be wrong. Perhaps he just likes his accessories…
