Ok. Thanks for answering my question, everybody.

I agree. Robin Hood would be awesome!

Yes, I agree that it would not make sense for Jamie to play both Graham as well as Hook during the same time line, especially when Graham is supposed to be dead. Like many fans, I was quite saddened when he was killed off, but Jamie could always return to the show as the Huntsman in flashbacks, as well as Graham to flashbacks of Storybrooke before the curse was broken.

Colin O’Donohue is a welcome, and very talented addition to the show who I think is going to stick around for a while. He makes an excellent Hook, just as Jamie made an excellent Huntsman. I hope very much that the latter will return in flashbacks, in future episodes.

I concur with what Carolanne says.

Graham is Graham. Dress him up any way you want to, he’d still be Graham. Colin is Colin, and he’s got Hook down to a science. The writers are great, but Colin has still made Hook his own. I don’t think anybody could “best” him. 😉

for a moment I thought when I saw the title of this thread, it was either a) going to be a question of who has a sexier Irish accent or b) who’s sexier in general. 😆 😆

Same here. I was gonna reply that I’ll take one on each side and happily be the meat in the sandwich, thank you very much. 😉 😆

I know there are some people who will think I’m wrong, but I don’t think it matters who plays Hook. The actor in the costume is pretending to be someone else and if he’s good, then it’s the character and the story I’d be paying attention to. If somebody else took over tomorrow, I might notice a difference at first, but it wouldn’t be long before I’d forget it wasn’t the same guy. I really don’t care who is wearing the outfit. Same goes for Graham, August, or anybody else. ABC soaps do that all the time. Fans still get to watch their favorite characters on tv, they still warm up to the actors, the characters are always just as entertaining, and the story still goes on. Once wouldn’t be any different.

@Josephine I know what you mean. I do enjoy Colin. I think he’s attractive and all but the roll of Hook should have probably been played by an older actor. Henry Ian Cusick is someone who I could see having great dynamics with Robert Carlyle. Regardless though, I do think that Colin is doing a good job but he def needs to have some more layers.

@Toothfairy when a show switches actors out on the same character, I hate that. It turns me off. To me, a character isn’t just a written thing. It’s just not the writers that create this character. It’s also the actor and the very subtle things they do with them. You can get a different actress to play Emma, but to me it wouldn’t be Emma without Morrison’s facial expressions or swagger or subtle reactions to things. A character isn’t just on paper. And I hate it when they switch actors. It’s more than just a person in a costume. A character is a mix of writing and acting.
