I really don’t think Colin has any plans to leave the show. OUAT is good for his career; he’s getting great exposure from being on a hit series. He seems to get along with everyone. I haven’t seen anything to point to him leaving at all.
I do get what you mean about recasting rather than killing off characters if actors become unavailable. I can think of multiple shows that were ruined for me by an actor leaving and their character being killed. One series killed their romantic lead during the Christmas special after his wife in the show had just given birth, and that was the second major character killed in that season. I will never watch another episode of that show again. I’m more inclined to the theater approach. They didn’t close down Phantom of the Opera just because Michael Crawford moved on. There are times I’m okay with killing the character (Mitchell in Being Human was very well done), but not when there’s an ongoing story that really needs to be explored and concluded.
Exactly. That’s why I hope that if O’Donoghue can’t be there, that they’ll replace him with somebody else.
And here I thought that this was something like a battle between Hook and the Huntsman. That would be cool.
I know I have disagreed with OW recently (as discussed), but I do agree with this. I think the character “Hook” should stay on the show. I would miss seeing Colin in that role, but I think I’d rather somebody else did it if he didn’t want to anymore. I still think Colin should keep the role, but somebody else would be better than Captain Hook not being there, and we shippers wouldn’t get our hearts too broken. 😉
I think that Hook needs a good story to be a real villian. He needs to be a little be more rotten. He should trying to manipulate Belle, find the dagger, turn again Cora and fall in love with Regina (I hope for Captain Evil) and then make Bae hate his father. Find a way that Rumple can not use his magic, but still be immortal. And when Rumple is on the floor and beg for his death (like Zoso), destroy the dagger that Rumple can never find his burdend live an end, but for sure Colin should play it, why not?
Don’t get me wrong this are suggestens that he should be more of an enemy than an appendage of Cora.
I love my Rumpelstiltskin and he is not allowed to die or not to get Belle and his son back in his arms. He is my favorite after all. If he get his Happy Ending after all what he did, I think that there is a good chance that evrybody else find ther happiness and in my heart I am 6 years old and want my Fairytales endings “and they live happy ever after…”
Heros don't get their Happy Ending!

Would be a cool matchup. Hook does believe in his code of honor… good form and all that. If the Huntsman won, do you think he’d shed a tear for Hook? 😆

I feel they have plenty of wiggle room to make Hook darker while keeping him sympathetic. Giving Colin more villainous moments to sink his teeth into would be fun to watch. Rumbelle is one of my favorite ships, but I loved Hook finally getting to do something cruel when he shot Belle over the line. It gives more dramatic possibilities to both the Rumple oriented characters and to Hook. Win-win.
