I could see them pairing her up with Lily too. There’s just something about Lily that makes me think she’s into girls.

#BabyDragonWarrior….okay….that’s a pretty awesome ship name.

Probably because all her scenes with Emma when they were kids were written with a lot of LGBT subtext…..

Lily would also be fine. They’d get their LGBT pairing and not have to put too much effort into developing it once Lily found her father.

I’m still on the Sleeping Warrior train. I think its sort of a cop out to pair two tough chicks together and say “here you go lesbians!”

Not only are Aurora and Phillip an icon Disney couple they are a Once True Love couple. Putting Sleeping Warrior together would shake up both franchises. Maybe that is what Brigitte was tweeting about.

Oh it’s totally pedestrian and a cop out to give two warriors/fierce women the lesbian story because (surprise!) LGBT people come in all shapes, sizes, and types. BUT…it’s totally in OUAT’s wheelhouse to play to stereotypes.

It’s also, sadly, in their wheelhouse to not be explicit about any sort of LGBT characters. For example, there are those who still think Mulan wanted to talk to Philip instead of Aurora at the end of 303. So if (and, TBH, it’s a BIG IF) they are going down an LGBT route with Mulan (be it Red or Merida or Aurora) then I have little hope of it being done well or respectfully.

Red Warrior or Brave Warrior would be…fine. And I’m using that loosely. It’s a quick and easy way to get an LGBT pairing to silence all the criticism without having to develop the ship after they get together. We know Mulan is coming back for 5B (presumably, according to Adam) but there has been no word on Red or Merida. So pairing Mulan with a female who is destined for Forgotten Character Island kills a few birds with one stone: silence critics, gets a buzzworthy LGBT pairing, but allows the writers to forget all about them after the fact.

One thing about Brave Warrior that I think needs to be addressed is that there’s the chance that Disney may not allow them to pair Merida with any love interest, be it male or female. Merida is purely a Disney/Pixar creation, and it appears they’re going the Frozen route where the events of the movie are canon, and this takes place after it. Elsa also didn’t get a love interest, despite fans hoping they would make her a LGBT character. Given the meetings that were said to have happened between the writers and the Frozen film crew, it’s clear that they were likely given restrictions on what they could do with the characters. They could have told the writers not to give Elsa a love interest, because it could clash with plans for Frozen 2 or whatever. Same could apply to Merida, if this is the case.

I am so surprised with how pro Sleeping Warrior this article is!

They know it’s a popular ship and they want to get people reading their article. Nevermind that Aurora’s totally happily married with a baby, so there’s no way SleepingWarrior will actually be a thing, they just mention it because they want people to visit their site and read and comment. Is Sarah Bolger even available at the moment? I have no idea what she’s up to these days.

I don’t wanna commit to shipping BraveWarrior before we know which eps Mulan is gonna be in and if Merida will even be around by the time she shows up again…but I totally wanna commit to shipping it…I can already feel myself getting disappointed and heartbroken. *sigh*

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall seeing Phillip outside flashbacks since he was turned into a monkey. Just sayin’.

Adam said at the end of 3B that Philip was returned to his human form and was just “in the bathroom” during the huge party scene at Granny’s.

I wonder how many characters are perpetually ‘in the bathroom’

The Bathroom is actually a nickname for Forgotten Character Island.
