I know we talked about this before, and maybe the writers tweeted something to suggest it, but maybe the Dark Magic in Henry’s life is Regina’s influence. She is the mom with a Dark Heart who raised him. I can’t remember where that was though or if they confirmed but most certainly it could be in various senses beyond genetics.
Honestly that’s what I think this is as well.

yes, I do remember a tweet from Adam confirming as such. There was a few of them if I remember correctly. He said he’s a mix of light and dark magic, and the dark comes from Regina.
Everyone is confused because of Neal, but it’s not referring to Neal at all. It’s Regina’s influence.
Keeper Nealfire's/Bae's scarf, Henry and Neal's bribery ice cream sundae, Baelfire's sword, the coconut map, and more.

It totally was not m impression from Pan’s conversation and Jane’s tweet.
Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.

@Whimsic_Musings I think we all thought of LOTF when thinking of the lost boys.

@ordinarycollege possible. But diff kingdoms do succession differently. If King had older sis with son older than Xavier – depends on rules.

@OUAT_CS they all just lost him. You can lose someone you once loved all over again even if not in a current relationship.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 15, 2013 at 12:31 pm #216087SlurpeezParticipantI’m glad to see Jane clarifying some more about this episode. I think Regina had a giant hole in her heart which kept her from fully loving Henry, but now that the curse is broken, she really really loves him. But as for her having a dark influence on Henry, yeah, it wasn’t great, but he turned out pretty well in spite of it. She must have done SOMETHING right. But she didn’t have dark magic while raising Henry since magic didn’t exist in SB before Rumple brought it. So I think that Jane’s first tweet was about Henry being the grandson of the dark one, the son of Neal (aka the spawn of the DO).

She didn’t have Dark Magic but everything about SB was through Dark Magic. Does that count?

For sure, that counts as far as Regina gas-lighting Henry. Environmental factors are certainly important in the whole nature vs nurture debate. I’m not trying to sugar-coat what Regina did to Henry (she isn’t exactly mother of the year). But as for Jane’s tweet about genetics being changed by magic, I think that she was clarifying how Henry’s genetic lineage impacts him. That is why the PP called Henry the son of the spawn of the Dark One.

He doesn’t start with straight up lies, but picks at the things that these characters maybe are already doubting about themselves. Rumple’ and Emma’s abandonment issues, Henry’s worries about the darkness inherent in magic. Henry was trying to blow up the well to destroy magic just a week or so ago. Does Henry undoing the Dark One happen because Henry must believe that he can? Is this part of Peter Pan’s game?
Thanks for the link, as I loved listening last year to Jane and Barbara talk about Miller’s Daughter I think it was.
