Just guessing but maybe Jefferson knew for sure that the hat takes you to the Enchanted Forest because that was the last place the hat went (when he got the apple.)
Jefferson made a curious comment while talking to David/Charming about getting Emma and Snow back. Jefferson said he was only a “portal jumper”. Could this be the reason he disappeared into the bushes after he jumped/fell from the window in “Hat Trick”?
This brings to mind an old Science fiction TV series called “Sliders” in which the main character, Quinn Mallory, invents a device that is used for people to travel from one parallel dimension to another (portal??).
There is also a subplot where he is looking for his mother and when he finds her, she tells him he is not his real mother but that he was “given” to her to raise.
First name “Quinn”
In American, the meaning of the name Quinn is: Counsel; intelligent. (the “inventor” of the portal device?)
Last name “Mallory”
In French, the meaning of the name Mallory is: Unfortunate; ill fated.
From recap of “Broken” from ABC:
“Entering his apartment, a sudden thunderstorm kicks up, and our stranger realizes, exasperated, that he left a window open, and wind and rain now pelt his desk. He rushes over to close the window, but it’s stuck. He tries to force it, but in his fumbled efforts drops his phone down the fire escape. Not his day. He slumps onto his desk, this is too much.Entering his apartment, a sudden thunderstorm kicks up, and our stranger realizes, exasperated, that he left a window open, and wind and rain now pelt his desk. He rushes over to close the window, but it’s stuck. He tries to force it, but in his fumbled efforts drops his phone down the fire escape. Not his day. He slumps onto his desk, this is too much. (Unfortunate???) Just then… a pigeon lands in front of him on the window sill. Tied to its foot is a piece of cardboard. After the bird flies away the man picks up the cardboard and looks at it. Written in thick black ink, it carries a simple message: “BROKEN”. The man turns the message over and we see it’s actually a postcard, and the picture on the front is of a clock tower, and in excitable typeface, “Greetings from Storybrooke, Maine!” “
Note that we never saw his face.
Could he be the “new” character named “Quinn”?
Could Jefferson be the one who sent the mysterious man the postcard since it’s possible he can portal jump in and out of Storybrook due to the mysterious man’s portal device creation? (intelligent?? )
Is this Bae?
Could Bae have created the device to look for his father thinking it could be used as a portal into Fairytale land, and found out it couldn’t go there because, as Reginia said, Fairytale land no longer exists since the curse was activated?
Could Bae and Jefferson been in touch all along?
Don't grow up. It's a trap.
I stand corrected – we DO see his face. DUH. 😳
