Jonathan's Oz Connection (theory)

So while being an awesome and fabulous person this morning I stumbled across something rather interesting that I believe connects Jonathan to a famous Oz character. What, you may ask? His name meaning. The name Jonathan means:

Given of God; Jehovah has given; Jehovah’s Gift.

Well there is someone who has a name meaning almost identical to this: DOROTHY!!!!! The name Dorothy means “Gift of God”!!! Perhaps Jonathan is also her father?

Does that mean Cora really had three girl? Dorothy, Zelena, and Regina? Or did Jonathan have Dorothy with another woman?

Also, not for nothing but in Oz the Great and Powerful:

Another character, Annie (Michelle Williams), informs Oscar that she has been proposed to by a John Gale, presumably hinting at Dorothy Gale’s parental lineage

John is short for Jonathan.

They did say that somebody Zelena was related to would be shocking right? I’m assuming they DON’T mean Regina, especially since that was spilled so early, so being the possible half-sister of Dorothy? That would be an interesting twist for Oz as we know it.

I think Dorothy is the spawn of Jonathan and some other woman.. I should hope Cora didn’t let him make tacos with her more than once >>

if Johnathan as Dorothy’s father is true, perhaps he movedhis fairytale conman schemes to Kansas and partnered with Wizard walsh? I dont know just trying to see whether Dorothy is from kansas or Enchanted Forest. Cause I am alright with Johnathan being her father just os long as she is form kansas.

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this, but I have a wild theory that Jonathan is going to turn out to be the Scarecrow. My reasoning: Jonathan is a gardener (Scarecrows go in gardens/fields); when he revealed himself as being a bad guy to Cora, there was what looked like a pitchfork beside him; can’t remember the direct line, but Cora mentioned something about his brain, taking out his brain (the Scarecrow wants the Wizard to give him a brain); Jonathan gave Cora a straw ring. So I think that Zelena, through the Wizard, found/finds out who her father is and as punishment turns him into a Scarecrow.

Please tell me someone else saw all these connections?

@fairycutie86 Now that u mention it, I do see the connections… It all makes sense and remember Regina’s line: “I think I’d remember if my mother mentioned having an affair with the scarecrow!”
