Katheryn’s Heart

By now, we all know that Katheryne IS, in fact, alive.
But how would DNA samples have come back as Katherine’s heart if she’s… alive?

Obviously, we know that Regina (as well as Cora) can pull people’s hearts out while still keeping them alive. But never before have we really seen a magical part of FTL revealed in SB. To the people in SB who remember nothing of their former lives, you can’t have JUST a heart without a body. And you can’t have a living, breathing person without a heart. It just isn’t possible.

So now, the plot line just got a whole lot more confusing.
What exactly happened to Katheryne?
How can Cora and Regina take people’s hearts, without really taking them? Maybe people actually can’t love after their heart is taken?
How will people react to this discovery?
Will MM be released?
Is this how Emma will believe?

I think that we might have been focusing too much on the specifics of the physical aspects of Kathryn’s heart. I think the more important thing is going to be how Emma is going to respond to the fact that Kathryn is still alive after she received DNA confirmation that the heart was Kathryn’s. Assuming that she will continue down her current path of beleiving that Regina was setting MM up – I think that she will assume that Regina used her connections as Mayor to doctor the results, even if it was actually Gold who, by whatever method was responsible for whatever happened to Kathryn. I don’t think Emma is at a place yet where she will actually believe that it was really Kathryn’s heart – even if it was. The next option is that Gold will say something that will hint to Emma that he had something to do with the heart and she will assume that he doctored the test results – although he could really be implying that he actually did something much more extreme that she isn’t ready to know about. But I would think that since Emma has now read at least parts of the book (and assuming that she has read parts that describe people having their hearts ripped out – you would think she would have wanted to read about Graham’s story, right?) she would again start to think that it’s odd that there are so many similarities to what goes on in SB and what is described or pictured in the book.

I don’t think it is Kathryn’s heart. I don’t know whose it is, but not Kathryn’s because it wasn’t glowing or pulsing like the other alive people’s hearts that Regina kept or i think Ruby or Emma would have mentioned it. It could be an animals heart or another dead person’s heart and Regina or Gold just doctored the results.

I am hoping that at some point Henry will point out the way she treats peoples hearts in FTL by using the book…Then Emma will start connecting the dots…

He did point it out to Graham, but he is gone. 🙁 It probably was an animal heart because if you think about Snow White the huntsman tried to use an animal heart to fool the queen but it didn’t work.
I am hoping it is Kathryn’s heart because what more proof would Emma need to see than a live person without a heart walking around. Graham told Emma it was the curse and brought her to the vault of hearts (well Graham’s guide).
All I know is that I am super curious and excited to find out how they are going to explain everything!
