Emma said the results confirmed the heart belongs to Kathryn. Yet, is Kathryn really dead? We’ve seen how Regina was able to remove Graham’s heart magically and yet for him to still be functional in SB. It seems like a citizen of SB could still be “alive” even without a heart. Since the heart is Kathryn’s, perhaps Regina removed it magically and then planted it to frame MM? Kathryn could still be alive but confined somewhere. Is Kathryn in the psyche ward with Belle or perhaps somewhere else? Of course, that’s going to be pretty hard for Regina to explain if Kathryn turns up again in SB, since the town sheriff just confirmed the heart is Kathryn’s.

Yet, I did see an interview that said the battle will come with casualties as we observed with Graham. So I’m really unsure. If Katherine didn’t have a heart i think it would have had to be taken out in FTL not SB. Taking out someone’s heart and allowing them to still be functional is definitely not something we can do in our world and as there has been no evidence of magic.
I also wondered if the dna sent in was tampered with. It would not be unheard of to, say, send in the heart of a horse with a strand of mane – it could easily be mistaken for hair and the DNA would come out a match.
All in all though, I unfortunately think she may have not slipped through Ragina’s hands. She has made it clear to us that she disposes of those she no longer has a need for. David loves MM and Katherine saw that. She can no longer be used as a puppet to keep them apart and therefore has no use to the EQ.

I however, want to believe that she is still alive somehow, and so for the moment am hoping for the FTL heart removal, but still alive in SB. If it is Kathryn’s heart taken in FTL, then it is possible Kathryn is still alive, because the heart is whole. Regina crushed Graham’s heart in order to kill him. So, there is hope given that consideration.

Just because we haven’t seen evidence of magic in SB yet, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. As August said, “Some people believe on faith, and some believe on proof” (or something like that). SB isn’t exactly the “real world” we live in, because it’s a cursed town. Hence, the possibility of magic still exists. Still, perhaps Regina removed Kathryn’s heart in FTL in an episode we haven’t seen yet. I’m really excited to see how the plot develops over the next several episodes.

I am wondering if the only hearts the EQ did not succeed in getting becore she enacted the curse were Snow White’s, James’s and of course Emma. No one in StoryBrooke is happy because the curse was to remove all the happy endings. Without a happy ending there is a hole in your heart, a sadness.
I know this hod very little when it comes to Kathryn so I am going to agree with others and say she is probably locked up somewhere.
March 21, 2012 at 12:22 pm #139363PheeParticipantI doubt that heart actually has anything to do with Kathryn. Regina just tampered with the test results, (or completely fabricated them if the heart never actually went anywhere to be tested…we don’t know that Storybrooke has a DNA lab and if Regina controls everything that goes in and out of town, she’s not letting that heart go to no DNA lab in Boston).
If it IS actually Kathryn’s heart, I reckon that means she’s dead.
I don’t see how it could be a magically removed heart where the person is still living, because Graham’s “heart” didn’t look like an actual heart. And the heart in the box that Ruby found was quite obviously an actual, flesh and blood heart, considering no one questioned why it looked strange and was glowing red. So I think Regina just dug one of her trophy hearts out of her collection and stuffed it in the box.

If you look at the worth of the characters in terms of the reason for enacting the curse to Regina in both FTL and in Storybrooke, you see that both Graham and Kathryn were insignificant. It was really Snow and therefore James that she wanted to make miserable, and by default all the major Fairy Tale characters. To me Graham (as the Huntsman) and Kathryn (as King Midas’ daughter) are very minor players that only served a role to further advance the stories of our major characters, Snow and James . Once they strayed from the path Regina had created for them in Storybrooke, they no longer served any purpose so what reason does she have for keeping Kathryn around locked up somewhere? David never loved her and never will so, unlike Belle, keeping her locked up somewhere isn’t giving her a trump card to use in the future. She doesn’t have any friends or family besides David so no one else cares about her at all. She doesn’t have to fake Kathryn’s death to frame MM for murder. I just don’t see any reason to keep her alive.
March 21, 2012 at 12:39 pm #139369hjbauParticipantI don’t think that the Queen could have everyone in Storybrooke’s hearts because there are just too many people.
When you say trophey hearts Phee that is sort of disturbing. The queen is disturbing though. I don’t like it when she touches people and when she just gets too close.

For side-character she does play an important role on the fairy tale side as Abligail and not Kathryn in Storybrooke. In Storybrooke she is getting in the way of David and Mary. However, after certain questions are answered about her in Storybrooke like how she fits into the plot and what she does know about the plot between David and Mary, and also whether or not she was a willing participate in Regina’s scheme or a pawn. After those are answered she’s not important. In FTL who know nothing about her and Frederick. We also know nothing about the fate’s of King’s Midas and George as well as their kingdom’s . We only have mere suggestions and our own speculations on what happened in the flashbacks. I think Abligail is the key too the FTL story more so than Storybrooke.
