I agree with Eala–the gender of the babies shouldn’t matter! Interesting point that there are many similarities between Aurora and Snow, so I do wonder if that might be all it is, and I agree about what Cinders is saying about needless melodrama, that there could be just a sweet scene of the two “new’ mommies helping each other out. Hah, it could be Aurora just giving hand-me-downs to Snow for her baby!
Then again, I feel like if it is happy, normal and such then they don’t tend to spend screentime on it,so if we’re going to meet Philora’s baby and another Snowing one–given that kidnapped babies are a big fairytale plot thing, especially if they’re doing the Rapunzel storyline (and they really cut back on on Rumple’s baby snatching ways)–they could do it now.

It shouldn’t matter, absolutely. But for the sake of argument–we’re dealing with what looks like a feudal society where we’ve seen mostly MALE rulers. Like I said, we don’t know how the politics of the EF work.
I am inclined to think that the connection is a minor one and nothing so grand.

BUT when Cora was plotting to get Regina on the throne, she told her how to do it so that her authority would supersede the King’s authority. Therefore one can assume that the society would accept a dominant female ruler.

Yeah i’d say so 🙂

January 13, 2014 at 9:45 am #236758CindersParticipantHonestly, for Snow, I doubt she’s thinking of Kings and Heirs. She’s gone back to a kingdom in ruins, a nursery full of ashes. Her baby will signify a new beginning, a new happiness.
And, I agree, the wedding could refer to RUMbelle, but it’s the “splashy” that sounds weird.

Ah but did that involve killing the king or just being a strong woman. Cora said that Leo was a weak man and Regina could easily be the real ruler behind the throne. But Cora never intended her to be the one and only ruler, merely the power behind the crown but through marriage instead of Queen in her own right.
However, I think this point is neither here nor there. Like we keep saying, I suspect it’s a minor connection that Keck is teasing to marketing reasons. We haven’t seen Philora on set since 312 so it’s a minor EF connection, like talking about their babies and their fears of motherhood.

Of all the main couples on the show Rumbelle are pretty much a certainty to get married at some point. The thing that makes me doubt that this is their wedding though is the use of “splashy”. Even if you take the other meaning of it, something extravagant, that doesn’t really sound like the type of wedding that Rumbelle would have. Rumple did come to indulge in his riches, but when it comes to Belle, I think his desires are pretty simple, he just wants to be with her, and vice versa, so I dunno that they’d throw a big, “splashy” wedding. Guess I can’t rule them out completely, but they’re my second option, behind Eriel. If we don’t get word about JoAnna and Gil going back for more shooting some time soon, then I’ll start to put some more stock in the Rumbelle option.

I was wondering if we were going to learn the reason why she’s green. Oz: The Great and the Powerful did that nicely. But I’m curious about Once’s interpretation.
The Wizard will be Rumple. I’m counting on it.
The baby will have a connection to the impending progeny of Sleeping Beauty (Sarah Bolger) and Prince Phillip (Julian Morris), though producers promise there won’t be a soap opera-like baby switch.
Snow’s baby will be a boy, and Aurora’s baby will be a girl or vise versa. Therefore, since they’re the opposite sex, they might be betrothed to each other.
Charming will come to the rescue of Rapunzel (Alexandra Metz) atop a tower;
Charming or his twin brother?
Expect a splashy season-finale wedding. Will the bride and groom be Belle and Rumple? Emma and Hook? Regina and Robin Hood?
“Splashy” wedding? Definitely Ariel and Eric. It’s too early for my babies.

I think it’s Charming. I think the Rapunzel story takes place during the lost year in the EF.

this was a nice post with convincing arguments, but you’re forgetting one thing… Rumpel is dead. now, I get that he might only be mostly dead or in some other realm and will need to be rescued, but it’s going to take a whole nother adventure to get him rescued and if the characters have to be fighting the new villain, when will they have time to rescue gold? not this season, I think.
January 13, 2014 at 10:28 am #236766hookianBlockedElsa coming on to OUAT is a big hell yes because Frozen is an epic movie.
Love that Emma and Hook are paired up with the other potential weddings. 😆 The only way Emma’s gonna be included is if they do the cliche “I object” route and she’s getting married to Gorham’s character.
Regina and Robin is definitely a possibility and Regina is definitely one for a fancy wedding but that would mean Robin and Roland would join the family.
Rumbelle is the obvious choice. As far as people being confused by splashy wedding to me that just means that it’s gonna be on the Jolly Roger and Hook as Captain has the power to officiate it. Talk about a heck of a end point to Rumbelle and Hook’s feud. Hopefully if this happens people will let the bad blood with Rumple and Hook finally go which IMO it already has.
The babies, I’m thinking they’re gonna be betrothed to one another from birth. That’s the logistics behind these kind of things back then at least.
