Yes they wanted to do PP from the start and there have been hints to PP since the start; the library clock for instance moved to 8:15 which is both a LOST and PP reference.
The sign isn’t magical, hence why it’s not in Rumple’s shop. There are many things that aren’t in his shop. His shop has items HE had in FTL, like the puppets, or other magical items. Just because it’s not in Gold’s shop doesn’t confirm that this is Snow’s house. There is no definitive proof. I’m not saying it’s not Snow’s, I’m just saying that we don’t know for 100% certain that it is. It’s just a place with a fence and tree and someone put a fairy sign up. It’s like having a gnome or flamingo in your yard. If there is greater significance then awesome but it’s far more likely that it’s just a decoration that the set designers put in because it’s a show about fairy tales.
I don’t know what you mean about the Nanny. Joanna was Snow’s nanny, but she’s a real character, not a stragitically placed symbol. And the Snow White is not the plot of the whole show. The plot of the whole show is fairy tales. Snow White was the jumping off point but it has diverged wildly since then. The family is main point.

THIS!
This was the pilot episode, which would have been shown to ABC/Disney (all the one company) execs who were in charge of deciding if the show would even get picked up and turned into a series. Like I said in my previous post, Tink is one of the major icons of the Disney company. This was one of the very first shots we got of SB, the town where all the characters made famous largely by Disney were going to be living. The fairy ornament was quite simply the perfect prop for that particular scene: a Disney icon welcoming viewers (and TV execs) to the sleepy little town where all the fairytale characters live.
Now, if it had been shown since several times, then I might put more stock in it having deeper, more specific significance. But it hasn’t been.
July 8, 2013 at 12:43 pm #199839HappyEndingsSpectatorThe gnome is in Regina yard – Since Regina 1st attempt at the curse didn’t work and the she turned one of the bad guys into a gnome for laughing at her – thus they tied the gnome to Regina they could have just put that in anyone’s yard too.
The bird feed is in Snow’s yard – Snow White has a relationship with birds why make a point of the bird feeder since we saw her in class teaching about birds.
The sign of Tinkerbell is in Snow’s yard. – Why not put it some where else then if you think there is no meaning behind it like where the BF is?
They said that the Nanny was tied to someone in SB – Snow
They say that Fairy is tied to someone in SB (Tink shares a surprising connection to one of the regulars) – So I am betting on Snow now this is almost word for word what they said about the Nanny.
Boy, I wish I had that color font back 🙁
July 8, 2013 at 1:31 pm #199840RumplesGirlKeymasterYes the gnome is in Regina’s yard because Regina cursed him. It wouldn’t have been in anyonelse’s yard.
We do not know that Snow White has bird feed in her yard. She lives in an apartment building, in a loft. I live in an apartment. I do not have a front yard or a backyard. Seriously, HE, I’m not suggesting that it isn’t Snow’s yard. I’m saying there is no definitive proof. Also, that this is a moot point because, like Phee said, they have only showed it once. They didn’t even show it in the season finale when we were going to NL as a nice subtle hint. If they had shown it more often then I’d be more inclined to believe there was a deeper connection besides just a nod to fairy tales in general.
Well, it’s a fairy not Tink, not specifically. They did not have the right to show anything from PP mythology so they put in a standard fairy sign. Yes, we as outside observers know it’s Tink but it’s not REALLY Tink because of licensing issues. And again, there is no proof that it’s Snow’s house as we’ve never seen the outside of the apartment, just Snow’s loft and the staircase. We don’t know where in SB the house is. But we do know that the fence is in the center of town.
The nanny was also tied to Cora and Regina and Blue and even Mr. Gold if you’re looking for really loose connections.
It’s important to note that someone not associated with the show said that about the Fairy. He’s teasing spoilers without giving anything away. He can’t just say, the fairy will be linked to Snow/August/ect. They have to tease something very generic. So, I wouldn’t read too much into it based on it looking like anything else. They said Eva had a surprising conenction to someone as well and we all knew she was Snow’s mother but the surprsing connection was with Cora, not Snow. I don’t actually recall them saying anything about Joanna except that she was Snow’s nanny.
Overall point: The surprising connection could be Snow, no one has said it isn’t. In fact I was one of the first to point out that we haven’t resolved the issues of the evil fairy and her magic dust. I’m just saying that there are many options and what you are pointing to as “factual” are in fact interpretations of evidence presented as vaguely as possible.
EDIT:
This is a test to see if italics are working for me. Feel free to ignore.

I recall seeing at least one blonde nun in 2×2 (I’d have to recheck to make sure though). It’s possible E & A have had an actress in mind for quite a while at that we may have even seen her.

Hmmm. Good question. If she came right at the exact moment of the Curse, like Kurt and Owen, she may have been in what became SB and retained her memories. If she is, then I expect she’s been behind the scenes this entire time plotting and planning. Except, wouldn’t Blue have told someone if Tink (and she’s evil presumably) was there?

July 8, 2013 at 2:01 pm #199845RumplesGirlKeymasterSlurpeez, do you mean at the town line when you thought you saw a blonde nun? This is the best pic I can find of that scene that shows the crowd. Maybe not a nun, but there are some blondes there? Or are you thinking of another scene?
Since the pic came out small, here is the link to the original big one:

I’m inclined to agree. I think more than likely she’s in NL with PP waiting for Henry.
