Actually she is dark she knows magic already, the photo shows them in FL not in NL. Regina needed something from Tink and is trying to be Tink’s friend like she was trying to be Belle’s friend.
Well the was a gap of time when Regina was learning magic but wasn’t the evil queen yet. Like in the Doctor. Once she became Rumple’s apprentice she didn’t want to use Dark Magic until after Rumple and Frankenstien and Jefferson played their trick on her. When she finally took a heart for the first time, the Esmerelda look alike, that’s when she began practicing dark magic.

That is why I think it is in her pre-Rumple apprentice scheme days. Yes she is talking to her like Belle, but maybe Tink is manipulating HER. We really know so little, but Regina’s looking very young makeup and dress wise.

September 14, 2013 at 12:14 am #209716PheeParticipantRegina’s wearing the same dress as in the scene where her father tells her about Cora’s spellbook, and she’s still in the same dress when she gets the book and meets Rumple for the first time. That happened the day before the wedding. I think Regina’s meeting with Tink was earlier that same day, before her conversation with her father.
Morning…
Afternoon…
Night…

I wonder if Tink had anything to do with preserving Daniel’s body? Could have been Rumple too but I’ve always wondered.
I get the feeling Regina probably went out to meet the “people” as their new Queen.
Cora says “Oh, a looking glass. Not nearly as personal. I wonder, sometimes, if the people really love you.” And Henry mentions the wedding is in 2 days. Maybe Regina was given a tour of kingdom and she tried to slip away and met Tink.

September 14, 2013 at 1:15 am #209725SlurpeezParticipantIt could just be that Regina has worn the same dress more than once. Even though her family appeared wealthy, I’m sure Regina didn’t have a luxury of a new dress each new day. Surely, she re-wore some of the dresses already in her wardrobe.

Frankenstein comments on how fresh Daniel looked, and he wouldn’t be that fresh if he hadn’t been preserved until after Regina started learning stuff from Rumple. I imagine Snow and Leopold were at Casa Mills for several days, they had to plan Regina’s whole move to live with them. Then you’ve gotta account for travel time to get back to Leopold’s place, and wedding planning time, so I’m guessing there was at least a couple of weeks between proposal and wedding, and then we also need time for Regina to get into using magic a bit before she can manage a preservation spell. Makes more sense IMO if Tink is involved with Daniel’s preservation right after he dies.
Good point about Cora’s line about the people not loving Regina. The timing would tie in nicely if that occurs in the t-word only a day or so after we see Regina mingling with said people.
Think I posted this in the headcanon thread, but I’m thinking that perhaps Tink was conspiring with Regina to help her run away before the wedding happened. Tink tells her to meet her somewhere specific in a couple of hours. Then between that conversation in the morning, and the conversation with her father in the afternoon, Rumple flicks Tink to NL so she’s not around trying to help his future monster to be happy and live her dreams. So Regina thinks that Tink stood her up and screwed her over, which is why she’s become desperate by the time she has the convo with her father that afternoon.

I agree practically speaking this is true.
But I also think it’s deliberate. Clothing on this show helps us make our timeline. I tend to think this is young/innocent Regina and not evil pretending to be good Regina.
Also, interesting that Phee thinks Tink’s banishment to NL is Rumple’s doing. I hadn’t considered that. Still think Tink’s been in NL a lot longer than just 39-40 years but it’s a thought.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"September 14, 2013 at 8:50 am #209755HappyEndingsSpectatorI disagree that Regina didn’t have the money for new clothes she lived on an Estate with her parents it was Cora that didn’t have money for new clothes not Regina.
I don’t think Rumble had the power to banned TB to NL, other wise he would have done something like with Cora, Ogres etc. I also think Regina needed something from TB that she couldn’t get anywhere else perhaps the squid ink.

Could be much longer in NL time. A tweak of the theory is that she was in NL previously, which is why she hasn’t been around to help Regina for most of her life. I’m assuming Tink is meant to be Regina’s FGM, but hasn’t been around, but may well have been around when Regina was a child, which is why they look like old friends in the pic. But then you’ve still gotta account for how she got to NL previously. Rumple could have sent her there before as well, again it comes back to Tink being a positive influence in Regina’s life, which is why Rumple needed her out of the way. So if he’d sent her there once before, back when Regina was just a child, but she finally busted out and came back to see engaged Regina, then Rumple is all, “Aaannnd, back you go to NL, and this time, STAY PUT.”

Well, we dunno how he stopped that first Ogres War, so maybe he did zap them away somewhere. He ended that particular war to save Bae from having to go and fight, but in later years, with the following Ogres Wars, he had no such emotional investment that inspired him to put an end to it. If anything, the war being ongoing was profitable for him, because people would make deals with him in exchange for protection. That’s how he ended up with Belle.
As for Cora, I’m sure Rumple could have quite easily pushed her through the looking glass himself, but the point of that exercise wasn’t really to get rid of Cora, it was to get Regina to have a taste of power, so he could sink his claws in and start corrupting her.

That makes a lot of sense. It could also mean that Regina and the rest of the JR6 (except Rumple) could have an ally in NL, which they might need.
