that would be an interesting twist and very fitting, since Cora is the Red Queen.
Nope, Cora is the Queen of Hearts, not the Red Queen.

Why scratch ?? It’s no problem they are not blood related. Regina and King Leopold.
I thought that too but Leopold would still be her uncle via marriage.

Hmm, good point. But aren’t the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts the same? Or am I remembering that wrong?
January 9, 2013 at 4:51 pm #167675@midgemarlyParticipantokay, so I told my boyfriend that sister theory and he put two and two better than I did. if Cora and Snow’s mom are sisters, and Cora later arranged for Regina to marry Leopold (Snow’s dad), Cora’s forcing her to marry her uncle. Totally didn’t think of that way when I thought about it — so um, scratch that theory for now.
But King Leopold and Cora did not acknowledge that they knew each other when she was conniving to get him to marry Regina! … much less that they were in-laws!
January 9, 2013 at 4:57 pm #167676@midgemarlyParticipantI wonder if Cora pulls any body duping in this 2-part episode. She has magic already. Wonder if she poses as Snow’s mom 😯 😯 😯
ETA – Just realized “The Miller’s Daughter” episode is after this one. Wonder if the timing coincides with her having magic in “The Queen is Dead”?

They’re two different characters in the books.

The fact that people often assume they’re the same is a reason why I think they could easily be mashed up for the show, like they were in Tim Burton’s movie. Saves confusion of, “Why are there two QoH on the show?” type stuff.@@MidgeMarly wrote:

And it was said that the ep with Snow’s mother is gonna be a two parter, so it must tie into Cora’s story somehow.

No, they aren’t, check out the links Phee posted.
From Lewis Carroll himself:
“I pictured to myself the Queen of Hearts as a sort of embodiment of ungovernable passion – a blind and aimless Fury.
The Red Queen I pictured as a Fury, but of another type; her passion must be cold and calm – she must be formal and strict, yet not unkindly; pedantic to the 10th degree, the concentrated essence of all governesses!”I admit though, this description of Red Queen fits Cora way better than that of the Queen of Hearts…

January 9, 2013 at 8:25 pm #167695SlurpeezParticipantAs for who might have a surprising connection to Eva, has anyone else thought Aurora or Lancelot? I’m sorry if either has been brought up, since I didn’t read through every post. There has been some speculation since the start of S2 that Snow’s mother might’ve become the Lady of the Lake who raised Lancelot. There was also other speculation that Aurora might have the same mother as Snow White, without either of them realizing they’re step-sisters.

If Aurora and Snow have the same mother, that would make them half-sisters, not step-sisters.
