There is not much we know about the episode anyway and coming up with stories based on the fairy tales we know is talking theories too. Lack of evidence is NOT a con.
[adrotate group="5"]January 11, 2013 at 8:39 am #167885TheGoldenKeyParticipantAn episode clearly showing that they did not know each other IS a con to this theory. Believe what you like. I however don’t buy it and have clearly stated why.

It’s all very well believing is something but it still doesn’t mean we cannot be right too.January 11, 2013 at 12:12 pm #167897PheeParticipantI could see Cora and Eva having been estranged sisters to the point that Eva never told Leopold she’d had a sister. Perhaps whatever goes down between Cora, Rumple and Henry is such a hot mess that it brings shame to her family and they disown her, so she cooks up the plan to kill off her sister and have Regina marry her sister’s husband as a means of revenge. There’s gotta be some reason that Cora chose Leopold and Snow in particular, I don’t believe it was mere chance, because Cora is nothing if not calculated. If we go with the theory that Cora is the one who killed Eva, then there’s gotta be a motive, and being sisters who’d had a major falling out could potentially provide that motive.
Was trying to figure out how their ages would all fit together to see if it’d work that Eva and Leopold could have met after Cora had become estranged, but it’s tricky when we don’t know exactly when stuff happened and how old they all were at certain points.
How old do we reckon Cora was around the time she and Regina met Snow? Late 40s – 50ish?
Snow was 12ish around that time. We don’t know how old she was when she lost her mother, but if they’re getting Bailee back for this ep, they can’t make her much younger, so let’s say she lost her mum when she was 10ish?
The casting call for Katerina(Eva) was for a 40 year old, (Rena Sofer is 45).
So a couple of years before the events of Stable Boy, Snow was 10ish, Eva was 40, and Cora was potentially 40ish too. So if Eva and Cora were sisters, there probably wasn’t much of an age difference.
However, there’s a significant age difference between Snow and Regina, probably close to the 10 year mark, if Snow was about 12 and Regina was about 20 when they met.So if events surrounding Cora marrying Henry and having Regina resulted in Cora being kicked out of the family, that still allows 8ish years for Eva to meet Leopold and have Snow, which makes it believable IMO that Leopold never had to know that Eva ever had a sister if she was never spoken about after she was excommunicated.
Granted, it’s all just speculation at this point, but if they did plan to make Regina’s mother and Snow’s mother sisters, I doubt they’d have given any hints to suggest it before dropping the bombshell, coz it’d be a pretty huge bombshell that they’d wanna shock people with.

It’s all very well believing is something but it still doesn’t mean we cannot be right too. Will you please stop putting words in my mouth. I never said you couldn’t be right. I said that I, you know plain old me, TheGoldenKey, do not believe in the theory. I have a right to voice my opinion without having to repeatedly justify it to you. Seems like you are saying that unless one agrees with a theory, they shouldn’t post.
It’s a discussion board, Opinions will differ. Please accept that fact without taking it personally and repeatedly jumping all over someone for expressing theirs.
You base your theory on Snow White and Rose Red’s story. I don’t agree because Cora is the miller’s daughter (K&H have already confirmed that) and I believe we will finally see the Rumplestiltskin fairy tale. Well, K&H’s version of it anyway. It’s as simple as that. 😀

January 11, 2013 at 3:05 pm #167925NobodyParticipantI have a couple questions…
If Eva and Cora were sisters and estranged wouldn’t Eva still have invited her to her own wedding either to rub it in or to extend an olive branch if she is anything like Snow? And wouldn’t she have told her husband about her sister either to complain or to let him know that they need protecting from her crazy power hungry whackadoo of a sister? I can’t see anyone that raised Snow not at least trying to reconcile because they believe in the good in people or trying to keep them apart in an effort to protect her family…both she would have been honest about…I mean young Snow is annoyingly sweet…she learned that from someone.
And hasn’t Rose Red and Snow White already been alluded to by the friendship between Snow and Red? I mean they are best friends and act like sisters. I don’t think their pairing was random. I think it was meant to be a nod to that story.
January 11, 2013 at 3:07 pm #167926RumplesGirlKeymasterThe actress they picked looks remarkably like Ginny (and the young Snow Flake whose name I am tragically forgetting). Great pick!
As far as her connection to a character we already know…my money is on Rumple. He needs Snow to be born and if Eva was perhaps unable to have a child, Rumple could make a deal. But I also wonder if she doesn’t have a connection to more than one person. Who wants to start betting that Cora killed the Queen?

In the little theory I’ve cooked up in my head, it’s a full on excommunication type deal. Like their father is all, “Cora’s name will never be uttered by anyone in the family ever again, she’s dead to us,” kinda thing. And/or maybe the family feared for their safety if they continued any association with her, so they totally cut her off and never spoke of her to anyone.
Of course, Eva could have vaguely mentioned to Leopold about an estranged sister, but as long as she didn’t mention her name, there’d have been no reason for Leopold to have recognised Cora when they met in Stable Boy.

Yeah that’s what they’re doing with making Snow and Red so close. The Snow from that story is a different Snow White, and it’s not like they can have two different Snow White’s on the show, so it’s impossible for them to do Snow White and Rose Red as a separate story and characters. I love how they paired Snow and Red up as BFFs.
January 11, 2013 at 3:34 pm #167935NobodyParticipantI thought the pairing was a nice touch myself. 🙂
Ok, so having lost a sister…not estranged…I can tell you that if you grew up with someone it is pretty impossible to just cut them out completely. I mean you would have to change every story ever from your past to cut them out or just not talk about yourself at all. I have tried to do that when talking to people I don’t know because they always ask about her and then I have to explain that she died at 16….don’t talk on the cell phone and drive by the way…and then they feel bad and it gets really awkward. It’s really hard to do.
Since Cora is the miller’s daughter she comes from a humble background and probably had to share a room with her sister if she has one. That is a lot of time together. My sister and I shared a room for half of her life….I pretty much couldn’t talk about the first 19 years of my life if I had to cut her out.
I don’t know…my personal experiences are obviously clouding my judgement but it would be really hard to be married and never talk about yourself especially if they really were as in love as we are lead to believe. There would always be a wall between them which would have kept them from having an end all be all love story….
