If the WW succeeds in killing Eva, how does the future change? What might it look like? Would Regina still be born? And how about everything we saw for the first 3 seasons so far? How much of that changes?

Magic always comes with a price, so I pay with visa.
April 21, 2014 at 4:44 am #262810PheeParticipantIf Zelena succeeds, that’s Eva, Snow, Emma and Henry that never exist. Charming would get another TL. Rumple would need a new Saviour.
But the way Rumple said, “To find my boy…perhaps never give him up,” sounds like he’s thinking of highjacking Zelena’s spell to go back to the portal and this time NOT let go of Bae’s hand. If that happened, there’d be no need for the Curse. Cora would probably still get pregnant and give Zelena up, but she wouldn’t have had Rumple to help her marry Henry, so Regina may well have never existed. Without Rumple around, James wouldn’t have been taken, nor would David, they’d have grown up on the farm. Leo and Eva probably still got together and had Snow, but she’d have to meet Charming some other way because he wouldn’t be a Prince in a carriage and she wouldn’t have been a Bandit on the run. As long as Snow and Charming still met, Emma would still exist, but Henry never would. Bae and Rumple would have lived out their lives and died in the Land Without Magic long before any of these people were born, (unless they both ended up in Victorian England with the Darlings and the Shadow still came for Bae, in which case I guess Rumple could have had a whole different quest to get back to his son). Rumple never would have confronted Milah and Killian, so she wouldn’t have died that way and he never would have become Hook, or gone to NL.

I don’t think Rumple would’ve changed time. Whilst the idea may have been tempting to him, Rumple’s speech about Bae’s sacrifice showed he wasn’t willing to go along with Zelena’s plan.
Also, with Zelena being the wicked witch of the west that she is, who’s to say that she wouldn’t decide Bae was getting in the way of her and Rumple?
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixApril 21, 2014 at 4:51 pm #262920schaendlichParticipantThat actually makes me think back to my other comment when the pictures of Hook and Emma in different clothing in the EF came out. I said that if Hook had changed so much (and it looked like he wasn’t wearing a hook), then whatever alternate timeline that was occurring here, involved a change far before the existence of Regina and the Charmings.
So, now I’m wondering if that’s it. What if he does get the curse and stops the mistake that started it all to ever happen? I loved, especially, your suggestion that the shadow would come back (because Pan would still be alive). A and E said they wanted to visit Pan again. That could open up to a story arch wherein everyone meets again(Because on Neverland, Rumpel and Baelfire could live the hundreds of years it takes to have the others…exist, I guess. )
Also, Regina could still exist if Leo found out about the pregnancy some other way, and had to give Zelena up anyway for a new start. Though, things would have to twist a whole bunch for her to survive TMD without Rumpel. Maybe Henry realizes what is happening and saves Cora from his father’s cruelty? Then, there is Regina’s birth. However, no Rumpel means no magic, so she’d have to find it elsewhere…This is getting too tangled.
I still hope that this is where the season is headed though. I really want to see the alternate world, and see how (if ever) everyone comes to the realization that this isn’t their destiny. Could you imagine how they might be perfectly happy, but would have to give up their happiness to go through all the crap again, just to do the right thing. Loved ones saying goodbye. Parents having to give up and lose their children all over again. If it’s well played, I would love to see it.
April 21, 2014 at 6:39 pm #262939PowellfamilyParticipantReally, Eva doesn’t even have to die…Snow just thinks that. Zelena just has to keep her from overhearing Cora and Jonathan. Leo could learn that Z is not his, years after he marries Cora and feeling betrayed, divorce her and marry Eva and still have Snow. Or he could have an affair with Eva and still have Snow.
Z could attempt to kill Eva but fail but still cause the timeline change a different way that preserves Leo and Eva Or Z could contrive for Prince Henry to meet Cora as she starts to leave baby Z and he rescues them both and then Cora gets caught up in meeting Rumple.
Snow being born could be the one flaw as she and David could still meet and have Emma.
If anyone saw the Yesterday’s Enterprise ep of Star Trek: TNG, The character Guinan had an ability to sense timeline changes. Emma could easily be given this ability because of TL and then spend season 4 trying to fix the past.

April 22, 2014 at 6:16 pm #263173schaendlichParticipantThat’s really interesting. I always thought that she’d try to switch the baby with her at some point…but I never thought that she was the baby. Wow.
April 22, 2014 at 7:40 pm #263186GaultheriaParticipantIt’s just a guess, but it would be irony with a capital “I”, so that’s what I hope happens.
Edited to add: In Safari’s font, that looks like ‘irony with a capital “L”‘, and I like the sound of that even more, though I have no idea what it could mean.
