My current head canon is that Will will have something to do with her resurrection if she is still being kept under the SB library by magic. We have spoilers of him trying to break into the library maybe to search for the thing that will send him back to WL and Ana. If the new curse brought everyone and everything back then it stands to reason that whatever was left of Mal and her looking glass might me down there.
I’m not going to hold A and E to what they said in their S2 podcast. As far as I’m concerned, no body, no real death. I doubt much of the audience listened to it anyway and were probably left wondering what became of Zombie!Mal.
If we just see Kristen in flashbacks I’m okay with that too. Love her!

Yeah I’m pretty suspicious about why they’ve announced a second half star (which won’t air until March let alone start filming until about January) when we’re about 5ish weeks away from the first arc, which isn’t Mal tied at all.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"She just seems to have a surprising amount of power in the two times we saw her use them for an exiled, wand-stripped fairy. When Tink gets banished, she’s mundane – if this Black Fairy who did “terrible, terrible things” was left with the capability to transform into a dragon and channel magic through a staff after having her deus ex machina wand taken away, that’s majorly irresponsible on Blue’s part.
Yeah, I could see them saying she regained powers by finding the staff, but they’d better explain why Blue didn’t strip her of the staff too if she’d been diabolical enough that she had her wand taken away.
FWIW (which may be nothing) Blue’s wand, Tink’s wand and the Black wand are all the same design. Disney’s Sleeping Beauty had 3 good fairies, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 red, plus bad fairy Maleficent. So if they made it that those matching wands are from the gang of fairies in Sleeping Beauty and that’s why they match, I could buy it.
I do hope they bring back Sarah Bolger as well and actually tell that story, rather than just showing a different aspect of Maleficent’s story, (which I wouldn’t put past them, I mean, they didn’t think Dorothy rated much of a mention in the Wicked Witch’s story, so they might not bother with the backstory of Aurora and Melificent even though it’d seem obvious that they would).
I don’t care why they are bringing her back, she is coming back!!
Bravo. She wasn’t around long enough in the first place. Great baddies never die! And she has the potential to be one of the greatest baddies, ever.

Actually, the past two seasons they have started filming Episode 12 in the second last week of November.

Yep. 312-314 were all filmed before the Holidays.
Ok, before holidays. Still doesn’t change the fact that they’re announcing a big bad for the second half of the season WAY early. Like majorly early. We were only two or three episodes away from the NL arc before they announced Mader, and even then they wouldn’t tell us who she was. This is SUPER early, even if it’s not as early as I previously believed.

Now…..let’s all just face the truth…Maleficent is one of Disney’s greatest villains ever created! I mean…right up there with the Evil Queen! And right after her movie came out….and boy wasn’t it a good movie….I think it’s great Mal’s coming back! But…I think we’re actually going to need her help with whatever villain we’re facing in 4B.
Headcannon: Mal is our next redeeming villain!
Cora died in S2/Hook is a villain
Pan died in S3A/Hook sorta redeems himself
Zelena died in S3B/Hook redeems himself
Elsa is only misunderstood/The Original Ice Queen or Hans maybe the true villains for S4A

Still doesn’t change the fact that they’re announcing a big bad for the second half of the season WAY early. Like majorly early.
Now tht I think about it, are we sure she is a Big Bad? She could be appearing in the show with a role that is a relevant without actually being major. Like, I think she isn’t the “Pan” or “Zelena” of this half of the season, but probably a “Glinda”, someone who plays a vital role but isn’t a star of the overall blah-blah-blah *trails off*
