A few weeks ago, we visited the Vancouver sets of Once Upon A Time and talked to various cast members – you can find some of what we posted here.

With a new episode airing tonight at 8PM on ABC, we’re turning the spotlight on Jennifer Morrison and Colin O’Donoghue, the “Captain Swan” duo of the piece.

First, we asked Morrison and O’Donoghue, who play Emma Swan and Captain Hook, how well-versed the cast is with the show’s large mythology.

“I think the series regulars are all pretty on par with our knowledge of the mythology,” Jennifer told us. “There’s little details that we all help each other with. There’s different things that different people actually were present for. So, I have a lot more trouble with some of the Fairy Tale land mythology, because I’m not there for a lot of that, so if I don’t witness the actual filming of it, it’s different to only see it once and have read it, than to have been present for the filming of it,” she added.

“Sometimes you forget, too, and I go up and I ask… ‘hold on, I thought this wouldn’t happen if’ — and she’s like ‘no, no, no. This happened because of this’,” Colin added. “It’s like ‘okay.’ So that’ll happen then? Yeah. Okay, I get it now.”

“It’s more the guest cast that comes in, where we’re like ‘just trust us’,” Morrison said.

Jennifer Morrison also fielded some questions about the Emma/Regina friendship. “Emma’s determined for them to be friends and to be allies. They’ve gone through far too much to go back to being enemies, in her mind. She understands Regina, and I think she sees how redemptive her story has been,” she told us.

One area where there is definitely no conflict from either of them is that of both of them being parents to Henry. “It’s interesting, because we keep getting asked about this, but I feel like Regina and Emma have really embraced each other as being Henry’s parent a long time ago,” Morrison explained. “I don’t think there’s any animosity there, and there hasn’t been in a long time. Regina’s concern about Marian coming back has nothing to do with Emma being Henry’s birth mother and has nothing to do with Regina being Henry’s adoptive mother. I think they both fully support each other as mothers of Henry, and they know that each other are going to always fight their hardest to do the right thing for Henry and to be there for him. I feel like it’s been a really long time — I mean, since the beginning of Season 1 — since there’s been any animosity about parenting tactics.”
