Today Lana Parrilla (Regina) had a skype interview where she revealed, although it was said by Barbra Hersey herself, that Cora would be in the second season AND it would revolve around her story.
What do you guy speculate her story will be?
My theories as of now are that she is definitely associated with Rumeplstilskin as either his first wife, the miller’s daughter or perhaps someone who was born as an adversary to Rumpel/Darkones power. Perhaps there is a war between powers that goes back way before Cora and Rumpel that has stretched into these prodigy? Is that why Cora wants Regina to be so much like her?

[adrotate group="5"]I think that Cora is going to turn out to be the miller’s daughter from the original Rumpelstiltskin story. She was poor and made a deal with him to spin straw into gold. As payment, he asked for her firstborn- which would be Regina. Then he gave her a loop hole that she could get out of it if she guessed his name. Her servant overheard him singing his name and told her so the deal was off, and he got angry.
In an earlier episode, I got the sense that Regina had once been an apprentice of sorts to Rumple…that he may have helped her get her powers. Maybe he is responsible for Cora’s powers too.

I’m listening to it now. Lana’s so sweet, for a woman who plays a villain but you know what I’ve found, the actors who play villains on TV are always like that. Zachary Quinto who was Sylar on Heroes, was the sweetest guy in real life.
