I think they would be smart enough to keep any crossovers to Wonderland consistent with the events of the 2nd season timeline so we wouldn’t see Belle in Wonderland while she is supposed to be in the hospital. We’d see references to events of the 2nd season to let us know what point in OuaT that we are congruent with.

I hope so too and I have a strong feeling that it will be. Most of the new shows that the networks are hoping will be a big hit get CC and with so much buzz around this show and so many t-word questions relating to it off the love of the main show, I feel like both should and will get CC panels!
I hope they can work something out and I’m pretty willing to bet that they will. They know the main show has a huge fanbase and that this is one of the incoming shows generating lots of buzz. Hopefully both will have clips to show that are new!

June 4, 2013 at 1:58 am #197148SlurpeezParticipantWhat can you tell us about ABC’s new Once Upon a Time spinoff, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland? — Emily, Provo, Utah
Some familiar Once characters will likely be crossing over into the new world. “I want to hang out with the caterpillar,” says Josh Dallas (Charming). “You know, have some tea, have some mushrooms.” Emilie de Ravin, whose Belle remains in Storybrooke while her friends are in Neverland, may also be given a ticket to Wonderland. “I’m totally intrigued,” says de Ravin, who confirms she remains signed as a series regular to the original show. De Ravin just so happens to top the wish list of Sophie Lowe, who plays Wonderland’s Alice. “I love Beauty and the Beast so much I named my cat Belle,” Lowe says.
Belle and Alice go on adventures? That’d be cool. However, it still sounds like speculation that Belle would appear in WL. It sounds more like she and Alice might meet in present-day SB.
Of course, there will also be new characters. “I’ve heard rumors that we’re going to bring in another very famous male Disney villain who hasn’t yet been seen in the Once world,” says Peter Gadiot (Cyrus). “He’s not from Wonderland but shares a tie to my character.” Considering Cyrus is a genie, Gadiot must be talking about Aladdin baddie Jafar. Give that man a flying carpet!
Oh, I’d like to see Cyrus perhaps be the good genie who grants Aladdin wishes! Perhaps Cyrus would cross magical swords with Jafar at some point.

The Genie of the Lamp never had a name did he? Hmm. I wonder if there is a Cyrus/Aladdin connection we could find.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"June 7, 2013 at 8:35 pm #197488MysteryKat25ParticipantApparently there was some confusion after this was released because people started panicking that various characters we love from OUAT would definitely be having adventures over in OUATIW. What actually happened is the apparently hypothetical nature of potential crossovers and I’m sure that Josh & Emilie were happy to talk in hypotheticals about what they would love to do if given the chance but here’s what Adam has said on the subject from twitter after a lot of confusion about getting questions about Belle going to the spinoff…
So while we *may* see people or places we know, there is nothing yet to suggest that anything significant is happening because while they want OUATIW to be in the same mythology world that OUAT is in, the casts are in fact separate and running their own stories. (They always envisioned Wonderland as being its own thing without really needing to have watched OUAT anyway but this clarifies that a bit).
It would be nice to see little cameos of people we know and see how they cross over with stuff, but I really think Wonderland is supposed to be its own thing and we can’t really have our main OUAT characters having a significant part of their story being told on the other show in case people actually do watch just one or the other. I do expect to see some cameos though to help the people that do watch OUAT make some connections with what’s going on in OUATIW but it probably won’t be too significant regarding their characters for the above reason.

June 7, 2013 at 8:40 pm #197489RumplesGirlKeymasterI think the minor characters in OUAT–like Granny–may be more heavily involved in OUATinWL, she may appear a few times because she doesn’t have her own individual arc, like say Belle or Emma.

She’d definitely be a character that would be easily loved and with no complicated introductions unlike, say, Emma. I definitely want to see more of Granny, she’s awesome!

Agreed. I imagine the cameos will work similar to how they did in Buffy’s spin-off Angel:
– regulars from the parent show appeared sporadically among the seasons, always playing a role in an already ongoing storyline and never for more than one episode during the arc. Examples: Buffy in 1×08 and 1×19, Oz in 1×03 and Willow in 2×22 and 4×15;
– special guests could appear more often and even have a small story arc. Example: Faith in 1×18, 1×19, 2×01, 4×13, 4×14 and 4×15.
