Lily was Emma’s first real friend but lied to Emma and hurt her. What did you think of Lily and her story? Why did she feel invisible? Will we ever see her again?

There seems to be more to her story and I think we will see her grown up. Also, I think we will see her betray Emma in the same way Emma betrayed her.

I don’t think the star was significant and I don’t think we’re going to see her again. This was just supposed to show how Emma was betrayed as a young kid, and obviously Lily = Regina (dark haired, Latina, spunky).
How did Emma betray Lily??? You mean by not going to find her? That’s just quid pro quo after Lily lying.

If someone apologizes and is sincere in that type of situation it should be forgiven. I think from the scene Emma even feels she betrayed her and can’t go back. That’s just what I got from the episode.

Yeah, but with Emma and her never ending super high wall of China walls, it’s hard to forgive or even hear an apology when you’ve been hurt and wronged. Like, I know Lily was probably very sincere and she probably did feel invisible at home, but for Emma there was a line crossed and she didn’t know how to make it uncrossed. And that goes back to being abandoned as a newborn. Once you’ve been “told” you’re not good enough, it’s very hard to hear someone try to tell you that you are in fact, good enough. So Lily reaching out and saying, “no we are alike” rings hollow for Emma because this is just another person that hurt her.

As much as I loved seeing young Emma and getting more flesh on her backstory, (and I did), there are SO many characters whose stories I also want to see. Lily’s story could have been told differently if it was relevant but not relevant enough to bring her back into things later.

October 26, 2014 at 11:17 pm #287588AmdillaeParticipantI am thinking there is much more to Lilly that we will find out in a later season and I think it will be that she is a villain.
We are presented with an orphaned girl with a pentagram shaped mark on her wrist. Her is name Lilith, the name of a female demon from myth (and for Mortal Instruments’ fans is consider the ultimate mother of all half demon children) and is desperate as she is invisible and unloved by her family (where have we heard that before?).
No nothing suspicious about this being a throw away character.

Ausiello: The ABC series in casting the recurring role of Lily, a bright, self-reliant teen who boasts a “charming, take-no-prisoners punk exterior and the heart of a secretive, insecure opportunist.” Watch for this lass to first appear in Episode 5.
I hope to see more of here. Nicole Muñoz was perfect.

I don’t think its a coincidence that this girl comes along with a star burned into her wrist and at the same time there’s a whole story arc involving a hat with a whole bunch of stars on it. Plus, when Rumplestiltskin did whatever with the Apprentice during the last episode didn’t an extra star appear on the hat? Perhaps whoever the Sorcerer is has control over people and marks them with a star and maybe one of those people was Lily. Not outside of the realm of possibility.
Besides how could a girl branded with anything on her wrist really be a throwaway on this show?
October 27, 2014 at 12:30 am #287613disqus_fsefyyogzoParticipantAnd please excuse the strange user name. I am new to posting though have been a long time lurker. It’s very confusing figuring out how to register while using my phone. My actual name is Heather though. Going to see if I can register so my name isn’t just disqususer.
