So many Emma/Tinkerbell nods included in this episode.

Emma’s overall appearance just oozed Tinkerbell…the tights…the red lipstick…the hair pulled up and back…the short skirts and ankle boots. When I saw the promo shots for this episode there was something about her body language and facial expressions that also pointed straight to Tinkerbell for me.

Then we have little bitty Tinkerbell sized Emma pelting the great big Giant with sparkling dust. Such a Tinkerbell feel to the scene.

We also have little bitty Tinkerbell sized Emma standing next to the lantern in the Giant’s treasure room. The lantern is very similar to Tinkerbell’s lantern.

We have Emma inside a lantern…The Red LANTERN Inn.

The giant holding Emma in his hand is very similar to the animated Captain Hook holding Tinkerbell in his hand.

The tattoo on Emma’s wrist is very similar to the flowers that are in many Tinkerbell pictures.

In the book Peter Pan, Tinkerbell is a yellow light that moves around. Emma travels around in a yellow bug.

Then there is that shot I mentioned in a previous post of Emma “tinkering” with the toaster.

None of this means that Emma is Tinkerbell but we are very much being pointed in the Tinkerbell direction. It will be interesting to see if we have a separate Tinkerbell or if Emma is going to be the Tinkerbell persona for the show.

And I LOVED the nod to the night lights! In the book, Peter Pan, when the night lights are lit they are the guardians that watch over the children during the night. So similar to the candle that Snow refers to.

Similar to how the Giant mentioned that the winner gets to tell the story and that his people weren’t bad, it’s Jack that was, it would be interesting if Peter Pan is bad while Hook is good.

I think the writers play around a great deal on what society lables “Good” and “Bad.” I love that they make things a bit more true to life and depict what being human truly means. Black and white rarely exists, if ever.

I don’t think it will play out that way but I agree with you, it they went that would be a HUGE unexpected twist.

So true…I think they have done an incredible job on the backstories that help explain how evil was birthed in the characters. Hurting people hurt people.
