Love Again: Who IS Regina’s Next Love

Okay, I’m pretty sure we’ve all wondered the smae thing after Daniel told Regina to love again in 2×05 The Doctor, the question now is who! We won’t know this season, but maybe next season we’ll see. Who do you stand by, and why?

And to be totally honest, out of all these, I sorta wanna see ThiefQueen happen, if they don’t turn out to be siblings! Tell me your thoughts, and why.

I’m hoping for an original character maybe next season, how about introducing the pied piper?… Maybe Regina’s heart could be stolen by a romantic type?… and what’s more romantic than a man who can control the minds of people by playing a musical intrument?.

I think Regina will be romantically linked to another “evil” character. Maybe Jafar when he is introduced?

Regina would have to stop being his patient, otherwise he would be crossing some unethical doctor/patient boundary, but I can see that happening.

Dating past clients is generally strongly discouraged as well. However this is a tv show, so I can see it happening 🙂 She needs a conscience lol

I’m obviously insane, because I’d like someone to open a portal to the past and bring back Daniel.(g) I thought that arc was done too quickly: he’s back, poof, he’s dust. Failing that, someone new. Swan/Queen could work in that they’re both strong female characters, but I never quite get past the idea that Regina’s Emma’s stepgrandmother, not her contemporary. Archie might be good for Regina, but I think he’s a bit too gentle for her: Regina’s pretty intense. (Although that could depend on the writing.) Hook just doesn’t seem to fit, either: he doesn’t seem anywhere near getting past losing Milah. For that matter, I’d like to see her portalled out of the past, even temporarily: her telling Rumple that she’d never loved him took some nerve and she’d obviously developed some self-awareness after becoming involved with Hook. Seems a shame to have let that all go to waste.

I think Regina needs to learn to love herself and realise who she truly is before she will be able to love someone new. She doesn’t want to be “the evil queen” but neither can she go back to the innocent girl she was in the Daniel days. She’s done too much, crossed too many lines, She needs to accept the person she is, take responsibility for the things that she has done, and decide the sort of person she wants to be.

Hmmm. I’ve wondered quite a bit about this. I get the Swan Queen thing (I don’t ship it, but I totally see what SQ shippers are saying) – they share a kid, both strong personas, their lives parallel, Regina believes love is weakness and Emma love is strength, and the heart thing, and their bizarre parallel lives and similarities to snowing. Plus, something which someone else mentioned (which I hadn’t even thought about), it’d be pretty epic to have the evil queen fall for the child of her greatest enemy right?. But then, the whole two women thing? Don’t know if they’d go there. I’m also a little suspicious – can’t help but feel if Snows kid had been a son, and was played by some pretty boy heart throb, people wouldn’t mind it so much. Although ABC are pretty progressive by all accounts. But I dunno. Hook and Regina? I find Hook creepy, but they had pretty good screen presence together – but the torture thing, plus him helping Cora break her will be hard to get past. Regina and Neal? I actually like MRJ, so wouldn’t mind ThiefQueen (is that what it’s called?) but can’t see how that will happen. Robin Hood seemed cool, but his true love is Marion right? Maybe Regina will meet someone in Neverland perhaps? I’d probably like a brand new character – I think all the current ones come with too much baggage tbh.

Swan Queen
I do understand what people see Swan Queen, and at times Emma and Regina can be very similar. I often wonder how they both would have turned out had they had each others lives (experiences growing up, this stood out to me when Rumple coached Emma to do the protection spell in 2×16). My only issue is that I’m not sure that they bring out the best in each other, they do not bring out the worst, but not the best either, though this may change as time goes on.

These two can be fun together but so far they haven’t brought out the best in each other at all. I think if the writers are reforming their villains, these two should probably both be further down the road of redemption before getting involved.

Other: Evil Cricket
I love how Archie has supported Regina, and he genuinely does seem to care about her past and her feelings so I WOULD be all for this, except he is her therapist. As nice as he is, I want to see Regina open up to some one about her past naturally not because she needs their professional counsel.

I have never though of this pairing before, and after the end of 2×21 I’m not sure it would actually happen and Regina hasn’t made a great first impression, however its not a bad match. Both are desperately searching for family and Nealfire’s anti-magic could help Regina’s redemption.

I don’t actually ‘ship’ characters but I think possibly a new character is best for Regina (but not a villain) or Neal (if he weren’t in love with Emma ~ his personality seems about right).
