Jefferson/Mad Hatter was such a mysterious figure in the episode! I’m so interested to learn even more than we did in this episode about him. The fact that he believes Emma caused magic to start happening in SB and that Emma has magical powers is really intriguing! He’s even survived beheading at the hands of the Queen of Hearts, which I think will aid in Emma’s road to belief. Also, the Mad Hatter had intimate knowledge of the multiple dimensions we only saw a glimpse of in this episode. He’s a magician and a traveler between worlds. Where exactly did the Mad Hatter vanish to when he fell from the window? Did Emma manage to enchant the hat for him and send him home? Or did he just survive a really large fall and run away? I’m guessing we see him again, since he’ll want to be reunited with Paige/Grace in SB to take her home to FTL. Perhaps Jefferson will play a key role in helping people find their way back in the end.

I think Emma does have magic then because it seemed like the hat worked. Though who knows where Emma went.

Sorry. I meant where the Hatter went.

If one enters the hat and end up in the room of doors….maybe it follows that when he “swanned” dived into the hat after the fight with MM that he ended up there. And since FTL has ceased to exist, or is at least empty and cursed, he has to wait. In a large room filled with doors that he can’t get out of. Much like his punishment in SB

I think going back to the room of portals/doors makes the most sense. And although he may not be able to get back to the Enchanted Forest, maybe he can enter elsewhere to another world. I guess I am wondering how he got sucked into SB if he was in Wonderland trying to get back to the realm of the Enchanted Forest? I guess I just thought as a FTL character he was automatically included in the curse? But what if the characters from all those worlds/doors are included? Would it be only FTL characters that have been dispatched to other worlds or does the Curse include them all? What was it Jefferson said about them all being strung together and connected?

For that matter, how did Regina get back? Was there an Enchanted Forest door? Because they didn’t enter the room of doors through a door, but from above, didn’t they? Were they whisked back out by a whirlwind to her castle?

Ahh, more questions than answers I’m afraid.

Here is what I keep coming back to: does this mean at least one person in each “world” has a hat? Because the Queen of Hearts and Regina knew each other. Is it possible the other worlds have traveled to FTL? And what would happen if they try now? What if they are searching for the inhabitants of FTL?

As far as how did Regina and Henry Sr. get back to FTL…my guess is that by exiting through the door of the world from which you originate is the same as “flying” up the hat. Your door will take you out of your hat and back into your world. I would have loved to see it though, for confirmation.

Maybe Jefferson can return though back through the hat. Hopefully Emma took the hat. I think she threw it in her car.

I think she did too, hjbau. Something tells me we haven’t seen the last of it.

I agree, Hjbau, I think Emma put the hat in her car. I think the hatter did get transported through the hat only because of the careful placing of the hat on the ground. It was facing directly upward – the same way it was when the EQ and the hatter jumped into it in FTL. I also believed him to be back in FTL or Wonderland because of the quick clip they showed of him making hats when Emma looked through Henry’s book. It seemed to me he was frantically trying to make a hat to transport him. This could be the hat that the Queen of Hearts asked him to make, or it could be a new hat he was trying to make to get back to SB?
