KeymasterMy BF just got finished watching the episode and he pitched an idea. Are Regina and Jefferson somehow related? He seems to think they might be half siblings. I told him I’d pitch it to the forum and see what people thought. I’m inclined to not believe it. I think they have a history but I was reading it as more intimate and less sibling.

ParticipantI will say, that with all the comments about family, at the beginning, I almost felt like Regina and Jefferson were somehow related and estranged. So it would be interesting to know how they knew each other, especially since he told his daughter he didn’t know her, which means he hadn’t seen her for quite some time, but obviously he knew her when they talked in the house and had some sort of history.
I posted this about an hour ago on the forum thread Regina and the Queen of hearts 🙂
The way she told Jefferson he should never have left his daughter, when she left Wonderland with her father seemed to have an accusation to it. Jefferson said his wife was gone because of the magic (I assume hat) that he had. It seemed like he quit practicing whatever magic he had because of this. So perhaps his wife died or got caught somewhere and he inadvertantly had to leave her. The hat apparently has rules on traveling in and out of the worlds. Or perhaps there is some issue of abandonment/ estrangement between he and Regina some other way. Maybe he is her true love’s brother. Who knows where the writers will take us with that.
But yes, I agree there seemed to be more familiarity between them than just acquaintances.

I agree, Hjbau, I think Emma put the hat in her car. I think the hatter did get transported through the hat only because of the careful placing of the hat on the ground. It was facing directly upward – the same way it was when the EQ and the hatter jumped into it in FTL. I also believed him to be back in FTL or Wonderland because of the quick clip they showed of him making hats when Emma looked through Henry’s book. It seemed to me he was frantically trying to make a hat to transport him. This could be the hat that the Queen of Hearts asked him to make, or it could be a new hat he was trying to make to get back to SB?
APPARENTLY, none of the hats he made were magic.March 26, 2012 at 4:30 pm #139828Phee

Here is what I keep coming back to: does this mean at least one person in each “world” has a hat?
And does ONLY one person in each world have a hat?
Does it always have to be a hat, or can it be any number of enchanted objects?
Just how often do all the characters hop between worlds?@belleoftheball wrote:

I’ve seen some discussion on this topic elsewhere too, but I think it’s gotta be a flashback to right after he met the QoH, because Emma saw the scene in the book, therefore it must have happened in Wonderland’s history, not in the present.

There was most definitely a familiarity of some sort between them, because she allowed him to get all up in her face and call her Regina instead of addressing her using her title. Here’s a thought, if they’re related somehow, maybe Regina Mills isn’t from a family of millers, but rather a family of milliners. 😉

ParticipantMilliners? Nice thought. She almost always has some sort of hat on, especially anytime she is outside the castle.

ParticipantMaybe it isn’t always a hat. The Red Queen didn’t seem to know what the Hatter used to get to Wonderland because she asked about it, but she had the Queen’s father which makes me think someone went to Fairytale land and brought him back so they must have a different way of walking between worlds.

ParticipantAnd who gave the hat its magic to begin with? Jefferson is obviously a master of its use, but didn’t he say something to Regina about not being able to create a magic hat?

ParticipantMaybe he got the hat from someone else.

ParticipantI don’t think that Regina and Jefferson are related in any way because when she left Jefferson she told him he was right; never abandon family. She is also a master of redirection, basically using his initial feelings against him in a twisted manner. If you really loved your daughter you wouldn’t have left her in the first place.
Grace lost her Mother because of the Hatter’s work, he didn’t say she was dead. I wonder if that will play a part later? -
