I have a thought…what if when Kathryn’s car broke down, she got out of the car and ended up lost in the woods and passed the border of Storybrooke on foot, but instead of killing her as predicted, it actually caused her to become Abigail again with no memory of being Kathryn…so now she is lost *and* confused about what on earth happened to her. She wanders back into Storybrooke and is terrified by the cars because there are no cars in fairytale land.
This is purely speculation- I might be totally off base. I just thought it was a fun idea.
That IS a fun idea! Would be cool if she’s all scared and confused and not knowing where she is, then she spots the gym teacher and runs up to him, calling him Frederick. 😮
Guess she’d also start calling David, James. And if so, would he be able to realise that her mental state is the same reason he’s been so confused and start to put pieces together? Or would that be too much of a leap for him to make? How much does he even know about Henry’s book and how he thinks they’re fairytale characters? Don’t recall off the top of my head that we’ve ever seen Mary or Emma mention it to him.
Surely Emma would have to take on board anything Abigail/Kathryn would say if she’s insisting she’s a fairytale character.

The facts are: her car was found in a similiar spot as Ashley’s and also where Emma “stopped” in the end of True North. Gym Teacher/Frederick? was seen stopped behind Kath’s car and he got out. This was the after they bumped into each other at school. There was a plot and conspiracy between Gold and Regina. We know not of any concrete details to the plan except for the key plant, and they expect her to run (MMB) that is. Red found the box with the heart and it had Kath’s DNA and it was not glowing and MMB’s fingerprints are on the box. One of the keys on Regina’s skeleton key ring opens MMB and Emma’s apartment door and is one in the same as the key in MMB’s jail cell. Red found Kath is the alley and she seems at first glance to be disoriented and she’s dirty. She was last seen near woods.
Other than what is factual. There are no other real details to say she was or wasn’t captured. Magic or no magic was involved. It does not take magic to plant a key into a cell. It does not take magic to abduct someone and free them. I’m not saying that was how it happened but does anyone see a point to where this is going? we cannot in our predictions or theories talk for the characters or suggest things to they are fact when it is based on speculation to start with. We should look at what is facts, see what is missing, then see if there is a conclusion or not that the path leading to the makes sense or not.

One Emma and her various causing things to happen, the clock ticked, the mine fell in, Rumpel remembered, the hat worked and two Hansel and Gretel’s compass worked at the end of Ep 9 when it pointed towards their father.
That doesn’t prove that Rumpel or Regina are using magic. We haven’t seen any of that yet. There are non magical ways to do what they have done so far.

Speculation that Kathryn may have stumbled over the threshold and as such could have remembered is based on the fact that her car was right where that threshold is. If all we can discuss about the show is hard facts we have, that takes half the fun out of the whole experience of the show IMO.

Yes, true and you do have a valid point. However, saying something is fact based on a spectulation of another spectulation while disregarding what is fact and putting word into characters’ mouths’ who have not said anything to the affect of what is suggested and on events that have not happened or even come close to ever possibly happeneing due to the mere fact that nothing was said for or against that theory is not good. It is no better than just making it up. Our theories have to be based on facts. Going so far off the reservation based guesses upon guesses is not fun. Some people can view this as or may say like Emma said in the Pilot, “Really!!”.

April 16, 2012 at 8:11 am #142501PheeParticipantTo each their own, I guess. I personally have plenty of fun letting my imagination run away from me now and then, pondering all the potential “what ifs” based on what we’ve already seen. Doesn’t do anyone any harm if their speculations are off base. The fact that such analysis and speculation can be done with a show like this just enhances my love of it. It draws viewers in and connects them with the storyline and the characters on a whole other level.
April 16, 2012 at 5:45 pm #142552SlurpeezParticipantI think after episode 17, it’s fairly safe to say there IS magic in SB since Emma arrived. Whether or not Mr. Gold used magic to bring back Kathryn is another question indeed. There was that little quip he said to Regina, “We all know what happens to those who try and leave.” We’ll find out this Sunday for sure what happened for sure. Kathryn did look dazed and confused. Maybe Mr. Gold was holding her hostage. Perhaps she was simply wandering the woods, and was dehydrated, or perhaps like David, she is having flashbacks to her life in FTL. The more I think about it, Kathryn had a blank stare very similar to the one David had when MM found him wandering in the woods in ep 16.
"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy
April 16, 2012 at 8:26 pm #142570SnickerdoodleParticipantOh, I like the idea incredibly that Kathryn may regain her FT memories and wonder where in the world she is. How that might of happened, not so sure. There has to be something that begins to trigger others…
Maybe she will be considered crazy and everyone will find out about the mental ward in the hospital because she will be taken there. That might tie in to the Belle connection nicely.
I am interested to know more about this deal between Regina and Gold — details, I need more details!!!! Also, does anyone besides Regina and Gold know what happens when anyone tries to leave SB? I would like an answer to this… it plagues me.
I am beginning to wonder if this curse has a “life of it’s own”, so to speak, and maybe Regina doesn’t have the control she thinks she has. What would counter a curse? A blessing? Emma? In the Bible, children are called a blessing. Maybe that is why she can counter the curse, and is considered to have “magic”, because she has the ability to counter the curse. Hmmmm! 🙄

We really do not know exactly what happens and how one acts after they gain full memory. Right after Graham did he did not have enough time to feel weird because he died soon after. we only have David which we can assume did from Hopper’s session and how Kath looked when Emma and Red found her in the alley. It is yet to be seen. Belle who knows how or what she’s thinking and also yet to be seen. All three have a strange look to them at those moments.I am interested to know more about this deal between Regina and Gold — details, I need more details!!!!
