Isn’t the mystery man the same guy who began season 2?
Yep, he is!

So he is Henry’s dad? But is he also Bae?
It is looking like he is Henry’s dad. But people are just theorizing that he is Bae (I sure hope he is!).

I’m hoping I’m so engrossed in the story, that it will not look/feel too weird 😉 I hope it comes across better on screen than it looks in the photos 😐
I think they may have managed to get away with a much younger Regina on account of the FTL wardrobe & hair compared to SB Regina’s more mature, modern clothing/style.October 23, 2012 at 9:11 am #157795MysteryKat25ParticipantPerhaps it’ll look better once they’re actually moving rather than the random stills? This episode should give us a lot of answers / confirm a lot of the theories that are going around so I’m excited for it.
I was all prepared to throw a fit when I saw “Oregon” connected with them getting into trouble since we were specifically told that Henry was born in Phoenix. However…apparently there IS a Phoenix in Oregon. Who knew? (Outside of residents of Phoenix, Oregon of course). Why it’s in Oregon I have no clue but hopefully it will make sense in a couple of weeks!

Hmm I don’t think that mystery man is baelfire because he wasnt a bad kid before he left fairy tale land but maybe resentment and anger from his father caused him to become a “bad boy”. Plus in the picture he looks like he would be atleast 10 years older than Emma if she is suppose to be 17.. Which would make sense because he was 14 when he came to the real world so he would be 14 years older than Emma IF he arrived when everyone else did
TAKE a kid from Mid-evil village with no education and plunk him into the modern age with no parents and what do you get…. TRAGEDY waiting to happen. He would be a street kid/ homeless unable to fend for himself. Unless he get plucked up into some sort of foster care … he would resort to stealing just to survive. Bad habits would compound from there.

Wonderful! Can’t wait for Michael Raymond-James to *speak*. 😛
Emma looks so carefree in the shots with Mystery Man. She must have fallen really hard for him and gotten hurt really badly if she now talks about him with such loathing.
Looking forward to watching this episode! Also eager to see where the reappearance of Eion Bailey fits into all of this.
I think I’ll melt if he speaks to her in that slow Cajun drawl of his. 😀

Don’t get me wrong, so am I 🙂 – I’ve been waiting soooo long for them to do this episode & I had no fear of Jennifer being her younger self …until these photos 😐 I’m just hoping it’ll come together in the actual episode & they’ll pull it off, as it’s a darn big ask to get a 33yr old looking like a passable 16/17yr old! Especially without the help of a period type wardrobe & hair style.
October 23, 2012 at 12:28 pm #157705hjbauParticipantI think the clothing helps. I agree that she does not really look young, but once we see her in motion actually acting differently then i think that will help. I can’t wait for this episode. I always wanted Jennifer to play her younger self, so honestly i don’t care. If Ben in LOST can play his younger self and it work fine then so can Jennifer.
Maybe there are separate incidents. I think the article in the Daily Mirror said Emma got arrested in Maine, but then Henry was born in Phoenix. I think they are in Portland though because the cops badge says City of Portland which doesn’t really make sense to what we already know, but the writers seem to be all over the place.
This all seems very random. About Emma’s bug, it is not herbie. Just for some reason people thought that and they said it wasn’t herbie, but meant that they were going to show Emma’s back story. Also i was wondering if the mystery man comes into town, since we now know he has been in Emma’s bug, if he will see Henry in it and make the connection. Since they already showed Henry sitting in it thinking about Emma.
October 23, 2012 at 12:55 pm #157706antbeeParticipantThank you so much for the pictures, Daniel. Finally visual proof that MR-J is Henry’s dad.
I really hope that whatever he did wasn’t too bad in the scheme of things. I mean I want him to be flawed but not too flawed because these pictures have really brought out the SwanFire shipper in me even more after seeing them together. Maybe I’m just seeing what I want to see, but I can already see the chemistry between them, which is great because I wasn’t sure what to expect since chemistry is a tricky thing.
I liked her relationship with Graham and thought that Emma had okay chemistry there. I didn’t feel anything between her and August until I found out that he was suppose to watch over her, and then I just got a big brother/little sister type of vibe. So at least the producers and I agree on that idea since before that, I just found August was trying too hard, and that Emma really wasn’t into him and couldn’t really see her ever being into him that much because there was just no chemistry there, imo. Emma and Jefferson did have chemistry, but I think that might be because of real life blending over perhaps. Either way, I found it disturbing if the show had went there at least not without Jefferson really redeeming himself for trying to kill Emma twice and being involved in Henry almost dying. Plus, I’m sure his wife will show up sometime, so I was hoping that his wife would show up as an option instead of them writing MadSwan first.
Anyway, even though she’s had all this different chemistry with other male characters, I think it’s a positive sign that it seems to already exist between her and Henry’s father. Hopefully, this means we get some great scenes from them in the future when Emma finally comes back to Storybrooke, and he arrives in Storybrooke from NYC.

OMG I know, she looks so cheery, and she hasn’t had much cheer in her life, and it’s about to all come crashing down around her. Poor Emma. 🙁
Yes, they both look so incredibly happy! I can already tell this episode is going to tear me apart. 😥 I really don’t want to end up hating Baelfire, well at least this early who knows what kind of character assassination might happen once he’s been on the show in adult form for awhile, so I hope that whatever he did, it’s not too bad. I mean I don’t want Emma to look too bad for her decision not to tell him, but I don’t want my ship to sink this early either.

I think they may have managed to get away with a much younger Regina on account of the FTL wardrobe & hair compared to SB Regina’s more mature, modern clothing/style.Actually I was really worried about them making Jennifer Morrison look 17 when I heard about this episode because while Morrison is incredibly beautiful, I wasn’t sure if they could make her look like a teenager again. While she doesn’t look quite 17, she does look young enough that it doesn’t bother me. They also did a great job with making Michael Raymond-James look younger, who I find very attractive, but again, he’s definitely not one of those thirty something actors that could still get cast as a teenager on some CW show. I agree though that it was definitely a lot easier to make Lana Parrilla look younger since they always style her to look more mature anyways.

Yes, I’m very surprised that Emma had her VW Beetle back then. I’m not sure if it’s the same one because I’m not sure how a teenager could afford to keep it while she was in jail, but a lot of people wondered why they had that scene of Henry sitting in Emma’s Beetle in Lady of the Lake, and I bet this is going to be why. Bae might know that Emma is the Savior, but he doesn’t know about Henry, so as soon as he sees a boy around ten years old sitting in her car that looks like him, he’s definitely going to connect the dots pretty fast.
ETA:
Yea maybe he was in some secret rolex watch smuggling gang.
This comment made me laugh so hard last night when I came home. 😆 I think it would be funny though if the reason Emma went to jail was because of stolen watches since Henry is a collector of clocks. I always thought it was because he was the only one that aged, but maybe it’s been a hint all along about why he ended up being born in jail.
October 23, 2012 at 1:19 pm #157814naomiParticipantI’m wondering if the writers are planning to bring Mystery Man (who I am equating with Henry’s father right now) into Storybrooke before Emma and Snow get back. I think it would be great if he somehow got to meet Henry before he found out the truth from Emma. Or, if he already knows/finds out who Henry is, it might be interesting to see him come to terms with being a father before he sees Emma again.
In any case, I love how rapidly Storybrooke/our world is changing this season. With Regina “redeeming” herself, Henry learning how to be a prince, Belle working in the library, Charming acting as sheriff, and the potential for Mystery Man to make his appearance – I wonder if Emma will even recognize the place when she returns. 😉 Not to mention, King George seems to be looming around one too many corners…
October 23, 2012 at 3:30 pm #157828JosephineParticipantOhh, I hope that Neal shows up in Storybrooke before Emma and MM return. I so want him to meet and start to suspect something before Emma shows up. Then BAM!, she comes back, and he’s talking to his son and she starts freaking out. Oh, the drama. I just can’t wait.
I was thinking the other day what Emma’s going to think when she returns. Her baby-daddy could be in town, Gold’s got a girlfriend, Charming is acting Sheriff, they’re mining for pixie dust, Regina is renouncing her evilness for now, and the library is now open. So much is going on since she’s been gone.
