Yeah, Emma’s bug isn’t Herbie. The executive-producers were most likely just joking, as you said, hjbau. Jennifer Morrison recently clarified this for us, so we can be pretty sure her bug being in the title sequence is just an indicator that 2×6 is Emma’s backstory (the way that the motorcycle in The Return was an indicator for August).
Are we going to see any Emma flashbacks or looks into her past the way we saw with the fairytale characters last year?
Jennifer Morrison: Yes, and actually it was so funny because at Comic-Con, we teased those opening sequences with those characters in the mist, and we showed a yellow bug and people thought that meant that the bug was a character, but it was actually that they were implying that we were going to flash back to Emma’s life. It was their way of symbolizing that. It’s been really exciting and it’s really fun because we’ve now done an episode where we really do get to see Emma 10 years ago and see the differences between what was going on in her life then and what’s going on in her life now and what’s changed for her physically and emotionally. We sort of see the roots of where this all came from for her.

We have had a lot of discussion about Emma’s arrest in Portland and Henry’s birth in Phoenix. I had agreed that they must be talking about Oregon/Arizona.
However, I have found that there are cities named Phoenix and Portland in New York.
There is a correction facility in Phoenix NY named Oswego County Correctional Facility.
There are two Portland NYs. One in Chautaugua county – 204 miles away from Phoenix NY and the other is in Tompkins County – 62 miles away.
My bet is on New York.

The Portland in this ep must be in Oregon though. There’s a shot where you can see that the bug has OR plates, and the red rose, (or should I say Rose Red? 😉 ), on the side of the cop car is an OR thing too.
Yeah, this is the Portland and when people say Phoenix they mean the Phoenix on tv. If they are going to have Emma be in nowhere New York then i doubt they would pick a city name that is already known.
Also i thought Emma was put in jail in Maine not Arizonia. The timeline seems weird here. Maybe Emma is arrested in one state and sent back to another.
