I’m not really sure. My first thought was he jumped in there and Emma didn’t know at first. I am also thinking that he gives her that watch and she doesn’t know that it is stolen. She then gets caught with objects that he stole, though it does seem to suggest that she also was stealing things, but maybe just there were some things she was not aware of. I don’t think she gets arrested here though, i think they are going to drive away from this stop.

yeah, you would think so but I looked up the canadian law (could not find an equivalent online for the american law) it is not illegal to posses stolen items, it is only illegal to steal them. So for Emma to be convicted for possessing stolen goods… a watch on top of it all seems a bit far fetched. Emma did something wrong… I don’t know what, but she is not clean.

But they were making a joke when they said it was herbie. It was a joke. A joke is not a statement of fact. They also said Henry’s father was chucky, that creepy doll with a knife that likes to kill people.
Umm i have no idea what interview you read, but the one I read had no mention of chucky & was about tallahassee, they where telling us about the episode & said something like ‘Fans may like to know Emma's car is indeed Herbie‘ … here is a quote from another interview (not the one I’m talking about- that had quotes from H&K- just one pulled at random off of the net) “As previously announced, Mulan will be coming on board and so will Sleeping Beauty (played by Jamie Chung and Sarah Bolger respectively). It looks like Jack (of “and the Beanstalk” fame) will join the cast, and Emma's Volkswagen bug? It's not your average car. Herbie the Love Bug (!!) will fit in somewhere; that will be interesting.”
As you can see no ‘joking’ tones there either …so I’m sticking with what H&K have told the world at large as fact 🙂Yeah, Emma’s bug isn’t Herbie. The executive-producers were most likely just joking, as you said, hjbau. Jennifer Morrison recently clarified this for us, so we can be pretty sure her bug being in the title sequence is just an indicator that 2×6 is Emma’s backstory (the way that the motorcycle in The Return was an indicator for August).
The interview I read & posted way back, happened a month or 2 AFTER comic con & had nothing to do with any title sequences, as stated above- I do remember her yellow bug being parked in a parking lot in the interviews photo.
No other mention was made of anything- it was just a statement made in relation to another Disney classic just like Mickey mouse, Herbieis a nod to the movie- Nothing more, nothing less- it’s no different than all the lost nods either. So while he wont have a role as such, it’s there as a NOD for FANS.October 26, 2012 at 11:51 pm #158123hjbauParticipantOh yeah, i definitely think that Emma did something illegal. My impression is that they robbed a store, but i can’t remember why i thought that. Even if she did no do this crime, i think that Emma did something wrong in this situation whatever it is.
I think that the thing is though that while possession may not be the issue, that the cops think Emma is involved with stealing these objects. They think she helped with this theft, of the watch, and maybe even driving the get away car, and that she is unaware that this has happened. We will see.
The herbie thing was a joke. Every time i have seen them actually mention it, it was said as a joke. I have no idea where it was in those millions of comic con stuff, but i think that was just something people said and then the producers mocked.
October 27, 2012 at 1:16 am #158134elleParticipantActually, the mention of Chucky was at the new comic-con, I think. Just like they joked that Goofy was Henry’s father. 🙂
I think Emma also did something illegal–she certainly has a good amount of knowledge when it comes to crimes and how to track people. Granted that was her job, but it could have started from even younger. Also, she gave Henry away for a reason–she must have thought that not only would he be more comfortable financially with someone, but that she would not be a good mother–in the second episode, Emma states that she would not be a good mother to Regina.
From the photos of a young Emma with Neal, they both could seem like young (well Emma is young) thiefs enjoying each others company.

completely non-related to OUaT: how does that even work?
ex: what if a friend gave me my computer? how am I suppose to know if it’s stolen or not? The police cannot arrest me for that?

I’m not really bothered by the fact that MRJ and Jennefer don’t look the age they are supposed to. I mean some people are just easier to de-age then others. I think i would be more upset if they got someone else to play them for that one epp…

I was actually expecting them to have another actress play a younger emma. The clothes she’s wearing in the pics are fine to me but the glasses make her look older.
I wonder if the Mystery Man is in fact Henry’s dad, and the writers are gonna lead us around to make us think that he’s Bae. I saw a video from comic con where someone in the audience asked Jenny Morrison if Henry’s dad was Bae, so the writers already know what we’re expecting.

The thing about that kind of thing is that it makes everything unnecessarily complicated. They have to leave clues about things like that or the truth will seem like it just fell from the sky. But to hardcore fans–the real weirdos that spend all their time on the forms trying to figure out what’s going to happen next–those clues give it away. I don’t think they would risk completely confusing the 99% of people who just watch just to throw the other 1% of us off the trail…
