YOU can tell STORYBROOKE is not in the real world because I have never seen a town counsel who would have voted and agreed to allow the mayor to buy land without a major discussion and debate. I do not know of a PTA that would let anyone spend any money without a vote. Everyone in town would have known about the playground.

Any mayor who spends $50,000 without prior approval of the town counsel would have been charged with malfeasance. Yet REGINA mangaged to spend the money, have the UGLY / dangerous playground built all without bids, safety evaluations, or any input from counsel or the community members.

Emma could have arrested her right then for MALFEASANCE…. but then this is not the real world either.

I totally agree with you. It seems out there that a mayor would get away with spending that kind of money on a playground without prior approval. Though i think that part of the curse is that everyone is really afraid of the mayor in a completely inordinate way. Mary gets either completely flustered or scurries away in fright whenever she speaks to Regina.

Regina needs to be arrested now for safety evaluations. It’s too pointy, making it pretty easy for a child to be skewered if they jumped off it the wrong way.

I agree, the counsel only went along with it because they were either scared or brain-washed into thinking, “Oh, Regina did a nice thing for the children for once. She’s not so evil after all!” 😆

And I’ve never seen a town council meeting that had such a big turnout! I live in a city of 2 million people, and we’re lucky if 5 show up for city council meetings–and that’s if they’re talking about something controversial.
