Not saying at all it would have “worked” or moved Neal. Its obvious to everyone that Neal’s problem was that his father turned evil. I’m kind of confused because I Didn’t Say Neal’s problem was his father was a coward. Didnt say I thought it would change Neal’s mind.Kinda surprised my one sentence kind of made it seem like I don’t understand the plot of the show, lol. I was just so excited I just went crazy on the keyboard without my mind giving my fingers direction. It was a bit of a mess. 😳
Maybe I could more accurately articulate it as this: **When Bae went through the portal, he says to his papa “you will always be a coward.” Bae never got to see the Rumple that we saw, before the prophecy; Stalwart, brave, ready to fight. Wish Bae could have seen a glimpse of his father’s former bravery. **
Like I said, I understand that this is most obviously the least of Neal’s concerns but its merely just something I desired. Not for any other motive other than its just something I desired in the moment. Not so it will change Bae’s mind, but just because it was a wish in a moment.

Yes, forced is a great word to describe Greg’s reactions. I don’t really get the big deal about his video either. Maybe it’s because it looked so fake anyways, and there’s tons of videos out there on YouTube of videos that have objects floating around that actually look more realistic, that I’m jaded by this subplot so far.
The person Greg was talking to probably never bothered to look at the video and just assumed it was another picture of his food.
I feel sympathy for Greg and his snooping. Belle is the only person who hasn’t cheerfully encouraged him to leave Storybrooke. He has to feel a little protective of someone who is both his only ally and also another potential victim of the psychos who are everywhere in town.

February 18, 2013 at 6:42 am #173972angiebelleParticipantI have mixed feelings on this episode. I had been highly anticipating it, and I liked it…but it was so angsty- everyone was angry at each other! No one wanted to forgive each other for anything. It was almost hard to watch. I hope we see more love in the next episode. I do think it was well done- the way everyone reacted to the circumstances was for the most part exactly what you’d expect. I wanted it to keep going beyond the anger to the point where we start to see a little understanding.
I think my biggest disappointment is that we didn’t get a big moment with Rumple realizing Henry is his grandson. I really wanted to see that- although we did get a nice moment with them before they realized they were related.
I did love the moment when Neal realized that Henry was his son.

With Milah, I swear she is more of a plot-device. She is just around to make Rumpelstiltskin more sympathetic.
You don’t think she’s Cora’s mom? “Daughter of a Milah”? Hey?

February 18, 2013 at 6:51 am #173976PheeParticipantI loved every moment of every heart wrenching NYC scene! The writing and acting was all perfection!
I’m not fussed on how easily the treasure map was found, because of all the places to hide it…seriously Belle?
Is it just me or does Cora seem less convincing when she’s in civvies, instead of her fabulous gown?

True, it would be sweet if he’s taken it upon himself to look out for Belle for a bit. I think that eventually, he’s gonna be a major character, so they don’t want to exclude him from the current eps. They’re giving us a little breadcrumb about him in each ep, and eventually they’re gonna lead to some major action he’ll take which will end up being a major plot point.

I mean, he starts off yelling at Neal and Emma like they’re two misbehaving teenagers (love their guilty exchange of looks) and then Henry walks in and it seems to finally click in Gold’s head. Then he just backs into the corner between the window and the bookcase and stares at everyone with this pained expression on his face for the rest of the scene. A second favorite would be Gold buying Henry a hot dog.
Least favorite? Robably Cora and Regina plotting to steal the dagger. I really hoped Regina would redeem herself, but I guess it’s too soon for that. Also – a map in the library? That seems RIDICULOUSLY EASY. And why would Gold draw a map to something he wanted to keep hidden in the first place?l
February 18, 2013 at 7:54 am #173987TheGoldenKeyParticipantHave to say that I loved every single bit of it. My favourite moment was during Rumple and Neal’s 3 minute convo. As Bae was describing how he felt when Rumple let go of his hand in the pit, he said “choosing all this crap over me” and at that exact moment did a perfect imitation of what I like to call Rumple”s Royal Sweep.
We then see Rumple doing it with the Seer moments later. It just made me think of why they selected MRJ for the part. Like Bobby Carlyle, he likes to bring those little tweaks to his role.Least favourite? Reggie. She’s just sort of drab these days. Just not feeling the Reggie & Cora bonding thing. Hopefully that will improve next week.

lI’ve gone back and rewatched that scene several times now, and you are right- there is definitely a great reaction there. It was just so late in the episode that it left me wanting far more. I want an emotional, caring, “I have a grandson!” moment in which Gold shows tenderness towards Henry. We also haven’t yet seen Henry have the realization that Gold is his grandfather. Hopefully next ep!

Whilst a loving, grandfatherly realisation moment would be wonderful, there’s that pesky problem of how Rumple sorta swore to kill the kid who led him to his son. So now he’s got the problem of having sworn death on his grandson, who is supposed to be the one who’s gonna destroy him. Awkward much. 😕 I do hope we get to see Henry realise that Rumple is his grandpa though.
February 18, 2013 at 9:10 am #173995andreth starkParticipantI have the feeling that all the last week spoilers are confusing us… We have read that Rumpelstiltskin made a vow that changes everything, blablabla…Maybe i’m wrong, since English isnot my native tongue and maybe i understood it wrong, but that last escene with the seer he says “then i just have to kill him”, that is to not a sort of vow, just a “why are you making a big deal of that? I know how to take care of myself, i’m the dark one!”
BUT, he swears to his newborn son not to leave him. (And this is the par i’m not sure i’ve understood well)
With all this I mean that maybe what changes things is that Mr.gold looking for his son is not only the act of a man who regrets leaving his son, but the fulfilment of a previus vow -something, in a magic-fantastic world, stronger even than feelings- and the last escene is just a “may be IF Henry turns out to be a threat in any sense, he could be in a danger” to which we are putting to much attention because of the sopilers. As I said, maybe i understood it wrong, but, i don’t know, it is quite tricky.
