    Kungaloosh Oncers!

Remember the movie Aladdin? Remember when Jafar was a big snake and Aladdin played on the thing he wanted most (power . . . hmm maybe he and Regina should date) and so Aladdin tricked him into becoming a Genie and being trapped by the curse of the Genie?

I see that parallel with Mary Margaret. Hear me out . . .

Both situations there is the villain and there is somebody who is about to die (Jasmine/Rumple) and the hero plays on what the villains wants most (power/mothers love) and manipulates them into their undoing.

I don’t think Aladdin’s heart has been darkened and I don’t think Mary Margaret heart is really darkened other than by her guilt.

    Anyway, your thoughts?

This is actually a very tricky subject.

I wouldn’t necessarily label MM as a villain because she’s the reason someone died (who by the way was a villain herself). I don’t see her having a lust for killing after what happened, or continuing to manipule people like Regina or Gold.

We all knew Cora was a threat to Storybrooke and to everyone else. It was a situation that never was going to end well. Even if Cora was given her heart and still wasn’t killed, there’s no guarantee she wouldn’t turn dark later.

Does that make MM a bad person? She was protecting her family. She might have been motivated by the revelation that Cora was responsible for her mother’s death but I think, deep down, she didn’t want to see anyone else she loved die at her hands too.

Agree with obisgirl.Allow me to add on to what you said. While it’s true that she doing it to protect her family, she was also doing it out of vengeance. It was the desire for vengeance within her heart that darkened it,not necessarily the action itself.

Keeper of King George's Coat of arms;Tiny's pickaxe;Belle's bronze vase;Emma Hacker device and true love kiss to Henry;Granny's surcharge on pickles;Snow's "Good will always win;Regina's apple turnover;Gold's pink shirt,Mickey phone,&glasses(1x12);RQ's chess set,and Chip's shattered remains

What’s interesting is that we know Cora did a LOT of bad things and yet, when we saw her heart, it wasn’t blackened. I’m wondering if that was an editing mistake or maybe it was because her heart wasn’t in her body. Like the heart has to be inside your body in order for it be blackened.

Now that I think about it, it would be interesting to see what Regina’s heart looks like. When you think about what’s she gone through this year, from being evil last year to trying to change for Henry, to being manipulated by her mom and then going all šŸ‘æ 😈 once Cora died, what does her heart look like now? Is it all black, semi-black?

Also, just because MM has a tiny black of her heart, can it be reversed, if she does good deeds? Sort of like the good outweighing the bad?

I don’t think it can be reversed, I think she’s just going to have to learn to accept that she has darkness in her, because EVERYONE has darkness in them. I bet if it were possible to snatch Emma’s heart, she’d have darkness from the crappy life she lived. On that note, who’s to say the darkness is just from killing Cora? It could have started when her mother died…the first tragedy in her life, or when she was banished by Regina, or when she chose to drink that potion (which, um, hi, was dark magic too.) I think once she gets over her depression and comes to terms with it, she’ll be a better person for it.

For now, someone needs to get that girl a Zoloft cupcake. (If you haven’t read the fanfic Once Upon a Parody…you need to now! šŸ˜† )

It’s a tiny black spot. I hope it can be reversed. It wouldn’t be terribly horrible if it weren’t — all characters need flaws in them – even the heroes but still.

That’s a good point about what caused the black spot.

Makes you wonder how there was any red at all in Cora’s heart. And let’s face it… Rumple’s and Regina’s isn’t that pretty, either.

In fact, none of the hearts that we have seen extracted from people’s bodies have had any black in them at all. And some we have seen pretty close up. I still think this is a trick by Regina. Cora’s heart should have been black as coal, whether inside or outside her body. It was still her heart and still could be cursed, so…

Perhaps the dark spot is all about mind over matter. Snow believes that she has done something evil so her heart has a black spot. Regina put the idea in her head that the black spot is going to consume her heart so Snow is likely to get darker because she believes it.

All magic comes with a price!
