ParticipantLucky, lucky gal Ory has landed the female lead opposite Lost’s Josh Holloway in Intelligence, CBS’ drama about spy with a microchip in his brain that allows him to access the electromagnetic spectrum. Ory plays the ex-Secret Service agent charged with watching Holloway’s asset.
Ory’s pilot gig is actually “first position,” meaning she holds onto it even if Once — where this season she was promoted to series regular — is renewed for Season 3.
No need to panic people. Interesting that the TVLine is already listed Once Season 3 renewal, especially since ABC’s Upfronts aren’t until May.

KeymasterBut if Once does get picked up, does that mean she works on both shows or that she has to choose?

ParticipantProbably that she has to choose and we just won’t see her often / they’ll have to plan in advance when they need a lot of time with her and schedule it accordingly.
I want it to do well (it’s about time Sawyer was back on TV) and I’m happy for Meghan but…what does that do for Once? Apparently OUAT is a star-maker cause our actors keep getting taken to projects of their own with bigger roles. I’m sure she checked with people about it since she is a regular this season and that they came to some agreement I hope…

KeymasterI don’t know how much more of Red’s storyline they want to tell, or even how much more there is. She hasn’t been around a whole lot lately. Red is a full cast member, but I wouldn’t call her a core cast member. She serves a purpose in the present day stories in SB, but again as a background character. I’d miss her though. She’s spunky.

ParticipantNo one is quite sure at the moment…..”Intelligence” is produced by ABC like Once,so that”allowed flexibility.”

KeymasterTV is weird.
Well, since they’re both done by ABC, I can’t see them killing off Ruby since there is a chance she could come back to Once every now and then.

ParticipantIn a way it makes sense (though it is weird that ABC is somehow involved with the CBS show). After all Josh Holloway was a big star for ABC on Lost and now they’re got Meghan Ory as well. Maybe there’s some contract work at play where they were under contract with the network for various years after but the CBS team for this show reallllly wanted them on and agreed to split it (probably more for Josh’s sake since Meghan was just brought in). Might have been cheaper to just split the profits rather than buy him out of his contract.
I don’t know if anything like that existed and Lost has been over for awhile now but I know some networks do contracts with the actors and they keep throwing various pilots at them to make use of those contracts. It wouldn’t surprise me if the CBS show just really wanted Josh and Josh wanted to do it and this was the solution. If that’s the case it opened the door for Meghan to join as well simply because it would hypothetically be easier to get her for a bit on Once if it’s somewhat within the network.
I swear actors get praise on Once and then disappear – poor writers; they don’t want to recast and are having problems getting various actors when they want them so have to write around stuff. Understandable but I’m sure it’s frustrating for them, especially when fans are yelling we haven’t seen their favorite characters even though they’re not available. It’s not H&K’s fault, I’m sure ABC wouldn’t let them put every single actor who has ever appeared under contract for the show and I’m sure the actors say hey, I’m gonna go do this, I’ll try and come back if you need me.

ParticipantI’m happy for Meghan Ory and cross fingers it works out. Of course I hope we nevertheless get to see a bit of Red or Ruby on Once, it’s a great character, but even more I’m excited for Meghan to get a chance to show more of her art.
And the plot sounds interesting. Hopefully with some more female element than Person of Interest has, but as sci-fi fan willing to take a look at the series, if it will become one.¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯
