This is a tad confusing, because I thought that actors basically signed their fate away to one particular network for X number of years, and that was the only network they could work for. Seems weird to have one network making the show and another one airing it. Oh well, if it means Meghan can still legally be on Once while also making this show, then it’s all good. Red may not be front and centre all the time these days, but she’s still one of the original, core members of TeamCharmings and BFFs with Snow, so it’d be a shame if they couldn’t still have her popping up now and then in the future.
My guess is they really wanted Josh Holloway and it was cheaper to let ABC in on the profits rather than buy out his contract (again, just speculation) and if that’s the case then it makes it a partial ABC show which gives them the chance to bring in Meghan as well (but she can still pop into OUAT a bunch hopefully, especially for the random little scenes she usually does). I wonder if the new show will film in Vancouver? (Maybe after it’s picked up if it is…cause that would make it even easier for her to stop by and Vancouver is quickly becoming the go-to place to film…) Still seems weird but I guess not entirely out of the realm of possibility. I can’t blame them for wanting Josh 😉

Agreed. It’s about time Josh Holloway was back on my TV.
That’s a whole lot of hotness in one show. It has to be a hit. I’m a straight female, but Meghan is just breathtaking. I hope this is her breakout role.
The thing with the networks and airings. It’s complicated. Watch some of your favorite shows and they might say CBS studios and it’s aired on NBC. I think that’s one of the reasons Scrubs was picked up by ABC for it’s final season. It was produced by ABC. ABC broadcasting didn’t pick the pilot up but NBC did and it aired on that network for years. When NBC cancelled it, ABC picked up its option. Just imagine that its producing division is separate from it’s broadcasting division and it begins to make a little more sense.
Same thing with Dancing with the Stars and American Idol. They’re produced in the same studio, but different networks. It’s not as uncommon a thing as you’d think.
