The Sorcerer is Merlin! Congrats to those who called it. How old is Merlin? What are his powers? Will we see Camelot? Is he pure good to battle the Dark One?
I still think Yen Sid would have been a more fitting choice….but oh well. It is what it is.

Morgan le Fay is totally going to be the Black Fairy now.

Agreed.
I am utterly upset Sorcerer is Merlin. It was so predictable that I thought they wouldn’t do it. But nope. They did it. Yen Sid atleast would have been a more creative choice even though that was predictable as well.
Yeah, I am sure Morgana is the black fairy and the original dark one.

I’m so excited!!! I just can’t hide it!!!
I love that Merlin is the sorcerer. I have wanted Camelot for so long I screamed “YES!” really loud when the Apprentice said his name. DH just gave me a weird look. I mean it is Merlin! I heart Merlin.

Agreed. I just read on the Morgan le Fay Wikipedia article that ‘le Fay’ is also derived from ‘le fée’, which is French for ‘fairy’. That’s a good enough Black Fairy connection for me.
Morgan le Fay is the character I am most looking forward to seeing next season, and if A&E don’t include her, I’ll be really, really bummed. She could give Zelena a lesson on how to truly be a wicked witch… not whiny.

It’s weird, it doesn’t really make sense that them deviating from the norm feels like the less creative option, but I totally get what you mean. Maybe it’s because it feels like they’re just doing the Merlin twist in order to shoehorn in our next destination, so it feels kinda forced?
I’m interested in seeing other things to do with Camelot, but I’m “meh” about Merlin being the Sorcerer.
As I’ve held Morgana-is-the-Black-Fairy as a headcanon dear to my heart essentially since the first mention in 3×11, I’m glad y’all are finally on the same page. I’m going to be devastated if she’s not in season five, honestly.
It’s probably strange, but I think personally the question that’s nagging me most about Merlin is that I really wonder what type of actor they’re going to cast. His Apprentice was an old, stately man with a beard; I’d just be surprised if Merlin was, too, I guess.

yeah and I still don’t get why. Why make the Apprentice that old? When he said, “Merlin,” last night I almost thought that the Apprentice might be Arthur for half a heartbeat.
