A recent theory of mine was that Merlin was the Sorcerer, and that the Apprentice was actually Yen Sid. The Apprentice being Yen Sid would make sense, because of how the records said the land lord of his house was “Yen Sid.”

As I’ve held Morgana-is-the-Black-Fairy as a headcanon dear to my heart essentially since the first mention in 3×11, I’m glad y’all are finally on the same page. I’m going to be devastated if she’s not in season five, honestly. It’s probably strange, but I think personally the question that’s nagging me most about Merlin is that I really wonder what type of actor they’re going to cast. His Apprentice was an old, stately man with a beard; I’d just be surprised if Merlin was, too, I guess.

Can Colin Morgan just bring his version of Merlin over OUAT….or just play Merlin at all. He was so brilliant in the role!

Could I make a request for a list of all Camelot references from OUAT?

During a journey to Camelot, Rumplestiltskin procures a magic gauntlet, an item used to locate a person’s greatest weakness. (“Heroes and Villains“)

Lancelot is one of the Knights of the Round Table, but falls from grace because of a woman. He leaves Camelot behind and travels to the Enchanted Forest, where he ends up working for King George. (“Lady of the Lake“) He also speaks of a magical cup that grants eternal life

While trying to reclaim the kingdom from the Evil Queen, Snow White resigns herself to accepting a life of exile. To boost her confidence, Prince Charming attempts to make a deal with Rumplestiltskin, who stresses that belief in oneself must come from the person and cannot be done with magic. Thus, the prince forges a replica of the Excalibur sword, a weapon originating from Camelot. After planting the sword in a stone, he persuades Snow White to pull it out since only the true ruler of the kingdom can remove, which she does. She then stands up to the Evil Queen by asserting her claim to the throne and her willingness to fight for it. Since Prince Charming told her the sword resulted from a deal with Rumplestiltskin, Snow White attempts to pay the price for it. Rumplestiltskin, recognizing the blade as a fake, erodes the weapon with one touch. Upset at being tricked, Snow White confronts Prince Charming, who reveals his motivation was to draw out the courage he knew she had in her.

Thank you!

In the Excalibur episode, I remember Snow’s version was fake, but did a real version exist?

It exists because everyone knows what Excalbur is and Rumple does say something like “it’s in Camelot.” We just haven’t seen the real version yet

I hope this means we get to see Lancelot again :3 I recall the actor did say he was going to be seen again in OUAT and then Adam said on twitter that he wasn’t. But come on. We can’t have Lancelot without Merlin. And vice versa.

Although, I am not as learned in Arthuian legends so maybe we can?

Anywhoo should we really be expecting an old beared dude as Merlin? I want to say Adam and Eddy should take some creative license with him, BUT THEN AGAIN Merlin is an iconic figure and changing his signature style would be like *insert funny analogy here* <—- im lazy today >> But yeah…. Plus I cant seriously take old bearded men seriously. But then again, I also DONT want them to change his look. But then I do. Ehhh….

I wonder if Archimedes the owl, Merlin’s companion from “The Sword and The Stone” will make an appearance, as other Disney animals have? I wonder if he will be able to speak english?

Someone on another forum pointed out that during S2 Natalie Abrams asked A and E about Lancelot and Arthur. Here were their answers

Going back to Lancelot, is there a chance of seeing Guinevere or Arthur?
Kitsis:
There is a chance of seeing it, perhaps this season, but definitely someday we will

Even though Cora (Barbara Hershey) says she killed Lancelot (Sinqua Walls), have we seen the last of him?
Horowitz:
No.
Kitsis: Why does everyone just believe what Cora says? Not one person on the blogs have doubted Cora, as if she’s the most trustworthy character that we have! She’s not Snow White, for God’s sake!
