Arthur said they had been waiting for ten years.

What if Merlin prophesied long long ago that the Savior and her friends would arrive “after Arthur pulled Excalibur from the stone”. So Arthur pulled the sword ten years ago, and they have been expecting our gang since then.

So Merlin could have been trapped in the tree for much longer. Didn’t someone (the apprentice?) say Merlin had been absent for “a long time”?

But of course that theory makes the movie theater encounter completely impossible! >_<

    So IDK.

So Arthur pulled the sword ten years ago, and they have been expecting our gang since then.

Lancelot is sort of the issue though. Ten years ago, the realm was cursed because of Regina. People could move around but time was standing still; we don’t know what really became of Lancelot after he left Snow and Charming but we know he wasn’t on good standings with Arthur when we last saw him. However he was there when Arthur pulled the sword from the stone.

It’s looking more and more likely that Cora did not kill him, but he’s nowhere to be seen in Camelot of 6 weeks ago meaning he never made his way back to Camelot (apparently?). In other words, the pulling of the sword from the stone had to happen pre-Dark Curse, pre-Lancelot befriending Snow and Charming.

But did they count the years they were frozen in time?

I don’t know. It’s just all too confuzzeling.

Yes, but is the decade or so even true? Because when did Arthur and Lancelot pull that sword from the stone? Because they mentioned the prophecy then too but that has to be before the Dark Curse #1, right? Unless there are multiple prophecies.

Also, the “decade” might not be referring to the 28 years of the curse. So the decade really might date back to 8 or 9 years before the curse plus the additional year or two since the curse broke.

Actually. That might be it exactly. That would fit with the timeline (uh, I think) and it would help with the Lancelot issue.

^ Well that’s kindof what I thought, but then how did Merlin talk to Emma during the curse. Cause he was definitely in the tree then?!?

Projection? He’s not really “there” with Emma.

Not only is Merlin in a tree but so is Dopey. Whoever entrapped Merlin used the same dark magic Emma used to curse the town of SB.
