You bring up a good point AntBee, I’m probably just being shallow not wanting him to be Bae. In everything I’ve seen him in, he is a compelling actor that constantly surprises me: plus he could hold his own against Robert.
Yes, in some of the pictures, he doesn’t quite bring the pretty/sexy I pictured for Bae, but I think his charisma and swagger really come through when he’s onscreen. (lol, I will never stop using the word swagger until we finally get our Jack/Bae for sure even though I hate that word in real life. 😀 )
Of course, the more I build him up now, the more I’m going to be disappointed when he’s not Bae, but at this time, if he is Bae, right now I’m glad they decided to go for substance over immediate eye candy because while I love the eye candy on the show, sometimes the acting isn’t as great as the pretty. Now some of it is the writing but not all though.
Plus, I like that he stands out compared to the rest of the fake!Baes at least to me because he looks very rugged and manly.
Still feels too cut and dry, like once again their leading us off. Every time they describe someone as ‘dark’ or ‘mysterious’ now, I just want to call their bluff.
Yes, I bet he won’t turn out to be Bae now, and that they’re having fun messing with us again. Seriously if I were a blond or a redheaded male actor in my 20s-30s, right now I would think about protesting the show because all they’ve hired are brunettes since they hired Eion Bailey.
I really think some reporter should get Jen really drunk during an interview, take her to dinner, and then ask her who Henry’s father is. She admitted at ComicCon that she’s known from the beginning. And I really need to know the answer for my sanity. Maybe they could take David, too, to get some answers on who Dr. Whale actually is.
Oh that would be wonderful; although if I was dating Sebastian Stan, I don’t think I would be tempted by anyone else. 😆
AntBee, I told you that song was depressing. It’s even more haunting when sung. It will be interesting to find out who this Mihla actually is. Poor Bae had it even worse than Emma, imo, so I wonder how screwed up he’ll actually be.
Yes, if Milha does turn out to be his mom, and she was in a situation like that, then his childhood became even more messed up. I really hope that when Emma is trying to deal with accepting what her parents did to save her life that he can help her realize that she could have had it much worse because at least her parents didn’t abandon her because they were selfish like maybe his mom and dad did to him.
[adrotate group="5"]August 4, 2012 at 2:45 pm #152850a_desperate_soulParticipantHmmm, other forums seem to think he’s either Beaman or Peter Pan. I don’t think he’s going to be Baelfire. He’s most likely attached to Captain Hook’s story. 🙂
August 4, 2012 at 3:35 pm #152852JosephineParticipantMaybe he is everyone…Beaman, Henry’s father, Peter Pan, Jack, and Baelfire. :D. I mean, if Gold can be Rumplestiltskin, Cinderella’s fairy godmother, the Beast, et al., then maybe his son is many people. Hehe.
I think I’m just going nuts at this point. I keep saying I’m giving up spoilers today. Maybe for my sanity’s sake I really should.

I think we need to gather all brunette, male cast-members between the ages of 20-30 in town square. Line them up, and have Rumple pick out his son.
😆 The first thing I thought when I saw the pic posted earlier in this thread was how much he resembles Eion in that shot, and how everyone thought Eion looked like grown up Bae, so for now I’m gonna stick with my theory that Hook was Beaman and fathered Baelfire.
I did expect Hook to be older, but I should know by now to expect the unexpected when it comes to how this show portrays characters. Maybe in the OUAT version of Neverland, no one ages, and that’s the age that Hook was when he first arrived there?

Yeah, I also have a feeling this casting could be a red-herring for us fans. By calling him a “mysterious new character” everyone is bound to jump to the conclusion that this guy is surely Baefire.
Indeed! They totally know that we’re all hanging out for the casting news for Bae, so if a “mysterious” male character has no name, they know that everyone will jump to that conclusion…which will be the wrong conclusion…unless they want us to think it’s wrong…but it’s really right…so they’re just trying to throw us off. You can’t fool me, Adam and Eddy, I’M ONTO YOU AND YOUR MIND GAMES, so this guy is TOTALLY gonna be Bae…maybe. 😛

August 6, 2012 at 3:09 pm #152892PheeParticipantHave been thinking some more about who Michael Raymond-James could potentially be playing. Have come to the conclusion that there are only 2 characters whose names would give away too much if revealed in a casting spoiler: Baelfire (coz obviously everyone’s waiting for him to be announced) and Peter (coz they’ve made no secret that Hook is coming, so it’s reasonable to assume that Peter Pan will be too). I know we’re waiting for a Jack to be cast as well, but that wouldn’t be something they’d feel the need to keep top secret, I wouldn’t think, despite the fact that Jack could potentially be Bae, but revealing a casting for Jack wouldn’t confirm or deny that theory.
Anyway, despite the fact that Bae is the casting that all the fans are anticipating the most, I reckon the reveal of him as Peter would be even bigger, because Peter Pan didn’t age, so if the OUAT version of him looks like this guy, that could give away something huge about how they’re planning on tweaking that story. Add it to the fact that his casting announcement came at the same time as the casting for Hook, and I’m almost willing to put money on the fact that he’s gonna be a grown up Peter Pan.
Also, the more I look at pics of him, the more I reckon he looks like he could be Henry’s father. Though I confess that I may be viewing his pics with a biased eye, because of my theory that Peter Pan stayed in our world and aged and hooked up with Emma.
August 6, 2012 at 6:18 pm #152896JosephineParticipantWhy can’t he be Peter, Bae and of course Henry’s father? What if he went to Neverland first and then somehow got sucked into our world.
I also wonder if the magic beans are a one-time use thing. Or like Jefferson’s hat can be used again and again. Maybe there is someone out there collecting beans for a specific purpose.

Peter Pan wouldn’t have to get sucked into our world by nefarious means. He could fly between Neverland and our world, so I think he just stayed here one day, possibly to escape the wrath of Hook.
Bae, Peter and Henry’s father being the same person is also a theory I’ve had in mind, because I was never convinced that Bae definitely came to our world when he went through the beanhole. The more I think about it though, the more I like the idea that Bae and Henry’s father are two different people, with Bae being Emma’s true love.

Interesting thought. Hmmm…it could be risky to send people off with a re-usable bean, because who knows where they’d go and what they’d do with it. Would BF have entrusted such a thing to a child, (and his father who’s known to be powerhungry)? Though going back to the idea of Bae being Peter Pan, maybe the Onceiverse Peter didn’t fly between worlds, maybe he travelled via magical, re-usable bean instead? Or maybe if there’s a physical beanstalk, a fresh crop of magical beans can grow on it?

The curse was broken in Storybrooke in the Season 1 finale of “Once Upon a Time,” and not only did the inhabitants get back their memories of their lives in Fairytale Land, but Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) brought magic to town.
“I think [Season 2] is going to be all about exploring the family relationship between — I am going to call them — The Charmings,” says Ginnifer Goodwin, who plays Snow White and Mary Margaret. “It is going to be all about exploring magic in this world because magic operates here in a different way. And, as we all remember our dual lives, we are all going to actually be playing a third character because now we are amalgamations of the characters we were playing before but we are still going to be playing those characters separately in flashbacks.”
But of course there’s more. “Once Upon a Time” creators and showrunners Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis gave XfinityTV.com the scoop on what we can expect when Season 2 premieres on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 8/7c on ABC.
The Power of Magic: “We want to continue to explore the themes of love and magic and the power of magic, and magic as a metaphor for a lot of things in our lives,” Horowitz says. “As we said at the end of Season one, magic is coming. And when that comes, what does it mean when there is a great power, and how does it affect all of these relationships? What is really cool to us is to be able to explore these parental relationships, where you have parents that are contemporaries, and a guy like David [Josh Dallas] who is now a grandfather to Henry [Jared Gilmore].”
New Characters: Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger) and Mulan (Jamie Chung) will join the cast. “We think they come into the show in a very surprising and unique way,” Kitsis says.”Because of that, we don’t want to talk much about it. We are very excited because, like everything we have done, we are not interested in re-telling or showing you the version that you are used to, so we think we have great spins on both characters. What we love is how they will interact with the people we already know and love.”
Big Bad Captain Hook: Another villain will be added now that Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) is set for the season: “Peter Pan is my favorite fairytale,” Kitsis continues. “For the last year, Adam and I could not get the rights, so we have had Captain Hook on our shelf, waiting to come out for a while, so we are really excited to tell his story and how he interacts with our characters.”
Rumple’s Wrench: Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Red Riding Hood (Meghan Ory) have been upgraded to series regulars. And with more Belle comes more drama for Rumpelstiltskin. Says Horowitz, “Rumple [Carlyle] is a man who feels he is incapable of being loved. So what happens when the person he always regretted letting get away comes back? How does that interfere with his ultimate goal? Because he is a man who always chooses between love and power. For us it is also fun because Belle has been in Fairytale Land in a locked asylum so, theoretically, she has never seen a phone, so a parking meter might frighten her.” And as for Belle, Horowitz says, “What we love about Emilie is she is an incredibly versatile actress, so there is so much we are excited to do with the character. What we loved about her interpretation of Belle is she brought something that was uniquely her to it.”
The Return of the Huntsman: Even though the sheriff is definitely dead, Jamie Dornan, who plays him, will be back “We saw him in the finale,” Kitsis points out. “He is still alive as the Huntsman. But we miss Jamie. We designed the character for the arc because we thought as Henry says in the pilot, ‘The battle will begin.’ If no one dies, there are no stakes. So we designed it with Jamie to do the first seven episodes, and we knew going off into winter break, we were going to kill him. The amount of death threats the two of us have received as a result…”
Emma Deals with Guilt: How will Emma [Jennifer Morrison] deal with the fact that she found her parents? “Emma is a character who, her entire life, wanted to meet her parents,” Kitsis says. “She has met them, but this isn’t exactly how she pictured it and this isn’t an easy thing to deal with.”
“Once Upon a Time” returns for its second season on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 8/7c on ABC.

August 8, 2012 at 12:41 pm #152846antbeeParticipantEver since last Friday night when the news about Michael Raymond-James joining the show was released but not his character, I’ve been following his Twitter account hoping for any new information because it seems like he updates pretty regularly. Plus, he seems like a really funny and nice guy, and so far we have the same slant on social issues when he’s being serious.
Sorry me Tweeties, I should’ve mentioned. I’m headed to Storybrooke, stupid early 2mro. Wish I could reply to all. Thx for the love. Cheers
I just thought it was interesting that he’s flying up to Vancouver to start shooting already. I think they’re on episode 3 now unless they film things out of order again, so that’s weird to me because I didn’t expect Jack or Peter Pan to show up until episode 4. Although I suppose if Captain Hook is in episode 4, Peter or whomever MR-J is suppose to be, they could lay the groundwork for his character in episode 3.
J88Ryan: @MRaymondJames Are you going to try to make the Alabama game?
MRaymondJames: @J88Ryan wish I could. Had to pass on tickets
J88Ryan: @MRaymondJames That stadium is insane. Better to be working though.
There’s also sort of a mystery about how long he’s going to be up there shooting, so I think he’ll be in episode 3 and 4. If it were only one episode I think he would be able to attend the Michigan-Alabama game on September 1 because it seems each episode takes about two weeks to film, and if he’s getting up there today to start shooting, there’s no reason that he shouldn’t be free on that day, if he were only going up for one episode.
MRaymondJames: @RyanBingham If I’m not at work in Vancouver on the 27th, you bet your ass I’ll b there. Promise to stay upright as well. haha @FondaTheatre
He seems more confident that he’ll be free on September 27 to attend a Ryan Bingham concert, but not a 100% sure, so before the mid-season break, it seems like he could be in anywhere between 2 to perhaps 5 or more episodes.
lol, this might be the most obsessive I’ve got over the show though because I feel like such a stalker right now. I’m just very curious about who Michael Raymond-James is playing. It just feels a bit early to have him be Bae in episode 3, since Lancelot is also in that episode unless like I wrote before, they’re laying down the groundwork for a big Bae reveal in episode 4 with Captain Hook and Milha. I could be wrong, but just going by the length of time that he could be up there, if he’s really serious about possibly being there by the end of next month, he must be someone important and not just another fake out, (at least that’s what I’m telling myself right now, :D).
August 8, 2012 at 2:05 pm #152920JosephineParticipantLmao @ you stalking him on twitter and trying to find out his schedule. Are you sure you’re not working for TMZ. 😉
