I have always thought that Guinevere loved them both. That was the issue. That she found them both compelling in different ways. At least that is usually how it plays out in the stories i have seen and read. It is a little weird though if Snow is in love with Lancelot. We may be way off about this i guess. Though it does sort of sound like that is what they are talking about in the article.

September 8, 2012 at 10:47 am #153634PheeParticipantThe spoiler for Once says it’s a connection that Charming doesn’t know about though. In the legend, Lancelot and Guinevere had an affair when she was with Arthur, and it wasn’t exactly a well kept secret, and that doesn’t really sound like the situation that’s described in this spoiler.

Thus, when Bae went through the portal, could he have entered 28 years later, and potentially will enter the real world (as a child) after the curse hit? Or is the timeline linear?

The simplest answer is no one (except for the OUaT creators) has the answer to that question. It’s all speculation at this point, and your guess is a good as anyone’s. Time could be different between worlds, so that 10 years in FTL would be like a minute on earth (e.g. think Chronicles of Narnia), but it could also be linear. We’ll have to wait and see.

Very long shot: but what if the connection is Snow’s mom? We have to get some type of backstory for her at some point in the show.
I did take it for some type of childhood crush/friendship at first between Snow and Lancelot, but what if Lancelot’s lost love was Snow’s mom? Obviously there would have to be a time lapse (maybe Ginnifer Goodwin is playing the ‘mom’ role)
Leopold would be Arthur. Snow’s mom Guinevere. It might explain why Leopold was reading Regina’s diary, and that shift in his character when he learned she loved someone else (not that he wanted her love)- had already had one wife cheating on him. He does seem to revere Snow’s mother even in death, but maybe that’s more a result of an obsessive/over-whelming love than a product of her being a ‘devoted’ wife. And/or guilt from her death/loss (thinking Richard Harris at the end of Camelot the musical here). Leopold came off as a very idealistic king – he wanted everyone in his country to be happy and I could see him also wanting equality amongst his knights (round table). Doesn’t take much to see him in the role of Arthur. At least, for me. 😀
September 11, 2012 at 4:32 pm #153823PheeParticipantLeopold strikes me as being a bit…flakey, for want of a better word, to be the mighty King Arthur. There’s no doubt that Leopold is a great, fair, and much loved king, so there’s that similarity, and it’s a good point he may have reacted that way to Regina’s supposed adultery if he’d been through that before. I just can’t really picture Leopold wielding Excalibur.
I was speculating in another thread that perhaps Snow’s mother will be the Lady of the Lake, who raised Lancelot, (having to leave Snow and Leopold to do so, which could explain the complicated relationship Snow is going to have with Lancelot), given that ep three’s title has been revealed as Lady of the Lake. If they were casting someone for that character who looks like Snow’s mother and wanted to keep it under wraps, that may explain why we never heard anything about her even being in the story until we got the ep title.
September 11, 2012 at 4:50 pm #153820lilredParticipantThat sounds spot on (especially with the title). What thread did you post this? I want to read it!
