    But, the issue is that at the end of the day they aren’t giving us any sort of in universe explanation. We have to make things up to try and rationalize their plot

    I’m hoping that Hook’s story about his rings, in the same episode as the big revelation about his endarkenment, has implications beyond just that it led Emma to act rashly. But yeah, I know what you mean.

    *insert long winded speech about fantasy and world building and how it’s not anything goes and how lack of rules means I stop caring since there is nothing to grab ahold of*

    “All magic has its price” in a very meta way that the showrunners don’t seem particularly concerned about, eh?

    That’s what I’m expecting, actually. An entire scene of Emma handwaving (literally) all these inconsistencies before she cast the Curse in Camelot. The problem is that it’s so….well, it’s handwavey.

    And knowing your luck, it will involve the next episodic Magical MacGuffin.
